Happy Constitution Day, hope everyone takes a mintue or two to remember what this country was founded on, and what the men who wrote the Consititution over came, to create the USA.

If anyone is interested  in learning more about our Constitution, a refresher course, or just bored. Here is a link to a great online course you can watch http://www.archive.org/details/Michael_Badnarik

All the best

Sorry to be so negative, but I'll celebrate Constitution day when we get the shit stains off of it from the politicians' wiping their ass with it. I have the day off, and will sit in solitude, thinking about what we once had.

I remember the quote "A Republic Ma'am, if you can keep it". I have the utmost respect for the Constitution, moreso than any person, even any God. Even though the Constitution is imperfect, so am I. It is unrealistic to expect perfection from man. As hard as they tried, they couldn't make it impervertable. Perhaps that is one of those things that really are impossible.

While the framing Fathers were in part, rich, the position in which they put themselves could've cost them everything, even their lives. This cannot be discounted. Damn shame it didn't work.

Patriots, teach others, especially the young about the Constitution and how it is supposed to be. Give them a frame of reference even though it will only be imaginary to them, the words of the Constitution can provide some substance.

And be careful, the subject is so obscure these days that it is easy to scare people away. Don't start on taxes, the UCC, Admiralty Maritime Jurisdiction, a corporate state vs a sovereign State or Territory, start with the bill of rights. Start with WHY it all happened. Without the tyranny, we could be happy Citizens of England right now. Without the oppression all this may have never happened. Power corrupts, and Thomas Jefferson advocated a revolution every twenty years or so. He knew that it would only last so long.

When you give consideration to the Constitution on this (or any other) day, is it in the sense of a funeral or a new birth ? That is for you to decide.

Tell you what I am going to do. I am going to get one of those copy Constitutions, y'know, made to look old and original. It will be hung on the wall in my living room by means of a hunting knife. I have the perfect spot for it right next to the thermostat, and people will be told that this is the law here, in my casa. And noone is to touch the knife, unless they need it to enforce said law. It will be at eye level, and hell, I'll even provide reading glasses (my crowd is getting older).

I think that would be appropriate, thanks for the reminder. With it on the wall all the time, maybe it'll dawn on some that we need to think of this every day, not just one day a year.

Like a Christian, actually every day is Christmas because you are grateful for your life, the fact that you are alive. A Christian is not a prick 364 days of the year, and as such one who respects the Constitution does not forget about it 364 days a year.

The mees will not be cleaned up overnight. But if nobody steps in the right direction, it will never be cleaned up. Perhaps a return to the documents that provided the very framework for this government would be useful. Perhaps more people should know about the Constitution. Perhaps Patriots should be thinking about this on a day such as this.

On this subject, a very very good read is The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Constitution, by Kevin R. C. Gutzman. It's a well written, well thought out and researched little book that will infuriate many, inspire a longing for a return to the days when the Constitution actually meant something (it's been a helluva lot longer than you think) in some, and inform all on how the Constitution came about and how it's fared through the years.
