I didn't want to highjack umisprite's "Ancestrals" thread, but I thought it might be fun to see what sorts of M/s, D/s or BDSM traditions that those of us in the here and now might like to see for the future generations.

So, just suppose that 'your' way gets to be The One True Way for all the future generations. What traditions would you start? What's your motto or mantra? What would you like to see carried on and embraced by the kinky masses? There's no right or wrong here because 'you' get to decide how it's all going to be done!

You are um .. The Utopian Guard! Yeah, that works! I like it! ::changes subject line::  (Feel free to name your own future though. No rules here!)

Fifty years from now, when most of us are either dead or using walkers, the youngsters of tomorrow can look back and say.. I knew the founders of that there Utopian Guard.. and 'this' is the way they all did it.

This is meant to be fun, not start a war.

I'll start:

The Utopian Guard bi Bita Truble

The Utopian Mantra: "Mostly Consentual". That means you can have a hard limit, but someone can try to talk you out of it. If you can't be talked out of your hard limit, it will always be respected. No more of that subjective safe and sane stuff.

The Utopian Way: It's all about adult personal growth, expanding your mind, body and spirit and maximizing your potential regardless of which side of the flogger you may reside upon. Striving for perfection will be the norm with the understanding that perfection is in the eye of the beholder.

The Utopian Family: It's all about compatibility and patience. Sometimes it's a family of one, and with The Utopian Way, you continue to work on self while you seek out the other member/s of your family. Sometimes it's a family of 100 and each unit is still responsible for adherence to The Utopian Way.

Utopian Rulers: They will follow the Utopian Way. They will wield their power with wisdom tempered by the needs of their individual subjects. They will recognize and acknowledge their flaws and prioritize those which are most important to work on to build and maintain the healthy Utopian family's.

Utopian Subjects: They will follow the Utopian Way, working on self, behaving in a manner which they know their future compatible ruler would deem proper and fitting for them. They will recognize and acknowledge their flaws and prioritize those which are most important to build and maintain healthy Utopian family's.

Utopian Kink: None will require that the way they chose to live their life be embraced by all but they will expect that their choices will be tolerated as they will tolerate the choices of all others.

I just fell in love with you, Celeste!

Utopian EthiKs (misspelled with a capital k, to make it cooler):  Utopian EthiKs dispenses with absolutes and embraces ambiguity.  The values that guide conduct within The Utopian Way are centered around the pragmatic ideal of 'making it work' and are to be articulated in terms of 'sort of, kind of, maybe but I don't really know for sure' statements.  Alongside tolerance, patience, and mostly consensual, 'forgivness' holds a high priority.

RACK seems to do it for me in most respects.  She consents to the nonconsensual state that the collar I give her implies.  End of litigation.

Erm....thats not utopian!  Cuz, like, you know, RACK is in the here and now, and not the future.  And, its an anacronym and everybody knows anacronyms suck.  EthicKs is much better.  'sides, I made it up and its cool.

I often say "if you're not living in Utopia, what are you doing to piss in the pool and make it yellow?"

Well.  Maybe not that often.  But I still have this nifty whistle.

what a great topic/idea!!
: )
dang...it takes me 5 paragraphs to say what most can say in 2 lines...so THIS topic would definately put me over my line quota  lol...

too many thoughts...so many possibilities  grinz..so little time...
need to go to work..

in my Utopia
this would to be the united anthem:

This ain't comin' from no prophet
Just an ordinary man
When I close my eyes I see
The way this world shall be
When we all walk hand in hand

When the last child cries for a crust of bread
When the last man dies for just words that he said
When there's shelter over the poorest head
We shall be free

When the last thing we notice is the color of skin
And the first thing we look for is the beauty within
When the skies and the oceans are clean again
Then we shall be free

We shall be free
We shall be free
Stand straight, walk proud
'Cause we shall be free
When we're free to love anyone we choose
When this world's big enough for all different views
When we all can worship from our own kind of pew
Then we shall be free
We shall be free

We shall be free
Have a little faith
Hold out
'Cause we shall be free

And when money talks for the very last time
And nobody walks a step behind
When there's only one race and that's mankind
Then we shall be free

We shall be free
We shall be free
Stand straight, walk proud, have a little faith, hold out
We shall be free

We shall be free
We shall be free
Stand straight, have a little faith

We shall be free

hmmmmmm.... there will be a secret police, overseen by a council who decides, because of their great wisdom who is not a "true sub" and a "wannabe dom".  This secret police will get their orders from the council to seek these infiltrators out and give them a tatoo, in the middle of their firehead either FS (fake sub) or WD (wannabe dom).  When they wake up they will have been given a memory lapse drug so they will not even know they carry such a mark.  This tattoo will be invisible to the naked eye but anyone with True Seeker glasses can put them on and see this mark of shame.  Every dom and sub will be safe and when a sub gets abused she can rest assured it's the real macoy!

Has mind-reading finally become genetically encoded? I know it would be nice to have that ability now. I'd like to think that if I ever do manage to discover the secret I would pass it on to my daughters. Well, then again, maybe not since they're both Domme. Hmmmm..... maybe if I have grandkids I would pass on the trick to them, if they happened to be submissive?
