Does that work with fried softshelled crabs, too?  Or just the boiled or steamed ones?   I hate to think about hauling out and in all that furniture every time I have crabs since I seem to have them often.  Given the rain chance this time of year and that I live on a second floor apartment--having crabs is really an inconvenience.  Thanks for the advice.

You do realize the title of the post sounds more like an announcement of the STD crabs, than the pinch pinch crabs?

If you were hypothetically forced to move from your current region for any reason, what thing or things would you miss most  from your region once removed? Or what do you miss about your hometown if you have already moved.

I love the vast array of fresh seafood like blue fin crabs, crawfish, oysters, and well all the wonderful fresh seafood here. Yum!

One reason that body lices spreads- id people would rather act like it does not exist. When in fact- one has to erradicate the eggs. The eggs take maybe 2 weeks to hatch. So a play toy lover- can give em to you, you back to him...back and forth.

a product called RID can get rid of them.

Eureka! I think I finally get it.
I guess now would be the time to come clean to the fabulous five.  I will bring the crabs.

We actually have crabs in our yard... fiddler crabs, i think. Little guys, one big claw. Kinda freaked me out the first time i saw one.
We have some cool wildlife here... big birds of prey nesting in a couple of our trees, anoles all over the place, skinks with flourescent blue tails, brilliant green frogs, black rat snakes, hummingbirds, bunnies... i was about 2 miles down the river on my little sailboat and had a pair of dolphins racing along about six feet away from me... i'm not a big nature lover, but i have to admit that they're neat to see.

i would miss hot pretzels and roasted chestnuts during the winter and walking down 5th ave during Christmas.  The hustle and bustle of an alive and vibrant city. Of course the pizza [:)] The cold snowny winters, the colorful fall days.  Hikes in the Catskill Mountains. The LI sound, swimming at Jones Beach, nothing like fresh ocean air.  Diners and deli's, pastrami on rye, ethnic food, diversity of people.  i have moved several times out of state and come to realize, this IS home.

The one thing that stands out in my mind that i miss from the Bay Area in CA is the ride down pacific highway in the fall and seeing a sea of orange with the pumpkins growing all over the fields. The other side was the ocean.

i don't miss anything from FL

MissSCD -> RE: I have crabs! (9/22/2007 8:45:37 PM)

When I left home 20 years ago, I moved from SC to Colorado.  There was a big difference in name brands. For example, there was no pet milk out west.
I eventually learned to like their food, but the one thing I missed was a traditional southern hot dog with mustard, chili and onions on it.  Same thing with a cheeseburger.
I liked the beef out west.  We have pork ribs out here, and the west has beef.  I like both.
That was the 80s, and I missed the music here.  There was a big culture change from dance mix to heavy metal out there, and also the clothing was totally different.

Regards, MissSCD

Now theres a thought.......if you have spider rolls, do you have to put your furniture in the sun?
If you give me rolls--can I give you crabs?

Okay.....I took it too far......oops!

soultoshare -> RE: I have crabs! (9/24/2007 12:10:07 PM)

I grew up in Upstate NY......they grow pretty much every vegetable and fruit you can think of barring citrus or the more exotic tropical fruits.  I miss the fresh produce something fierce!  They don't grow anything fresh here in AZ that tastes like it does back home.  I'd give my left nut for a NY apple.......washington ones are awful!  (Sorry to the folks from WA, but there is NO comparison!)   There's nothing better than eating fruit that is still warm from the sun......and I miss Abbott's Frozen Custard.......man, that really hit the spot on a hot summer's day!

Not too much else I really miss.....pizza is pizza......lived in Chicago, got the best pizza from a place in Buffalo.......gourmet crusts!  MMMMMMMM......garlic crust........damn...now I'm hungry!

Scrod is just a white fish, also called cod.  (Hence, Cape Cod, lol).  It isn't really anything "special" like shark or swordfish, but it's really good fish, especially when it's fresh.

When you're around the Maryland shore, you have to have some blueclaw crabs, they're the best!

Okay windchymes, I had scrod tonight.  It tasted like.................fish. LOL.

But I also had yummy clam chowder and yummy boston cream pie so I'm happy happy.

Thanks for the tips!

~Fast Reply~

The sweet tea and BBQ. I don't think I could stand to live in a place where there wasn't a lot of history either, but it would probably be hard to find a place without it. Just no new cities.
