canupleaseme -> The correct way to shave. (9/21/2007 6:31:45 AM)

Hi,  I am looking for some helpful advice regarding shaving male facial hair.  I am planning a session that will involve my boy having to keep a week free of shaving beforehand.  Durng the scene I will have him restrained in a chair and will be shaving him.  He has only ever used an electric razor and will feel quite nervous about this.  I have a very steady hand but vedry very rusty skills.

Please could anyone give me the run down for a safe shave ? I will be using a mac3 type razor.

Thank you gentlemen [:)]

I have tried using safety razors on myself, but they do not work for me. Best is an electrical razor if the hairs are not too long. Some surfaces with relatively few hairs on the cheek I can do dry with a safety razor. The closer I get to the chin the more difficult it becomes, necessitating many small cuts of the hairs. At that stage I may wet the hairs and skin, perchance also using shaving foam, soap or shampoo. It is said that the hairs are easier to cut when wet. Safety razor shaving is not for me. I'd rather use an electrical razor.

You may consider doing at first only the easy surfaces with a safety razor and doing the more difficult surfaces with an electrical razor. Watch out, for you may do him harm.

careful around the adams apple the mach3 tends to clip it. but then i don't use shaving cream. small quick cuts are better than long ones when you are not using shaving cream. you will have to learn the contours of his face first. so do some practice shaves before hand

I like facial hair, so can't help......lol

yes it does get more diffucult when you get close to the chin. i don't like electric razors they take up to much time. and you have to go over the same spot several times.

Thanks [:D]  Can I ask which direction you shave against?

Phoenix2raven -> RE: The correct way to shave. (9/21/2007 7:45:38 AM)

Just go slow and with the direction of the hair on the face. Go against the direction under the chin and have a styptic pencil ready if you cut him. It will burn a little [sm=evil.gif] but it will stop the bleeding.

Always follow the nap, the direction, of the hairs. If you shave opposite to that direction you may cut the skin. If you follow the nap the skin below and downstream of the hair is pushed down and relatively safe from the knives. If you go against the nap, the hairs will form an obstruction, levers that push the skin upstream of the hair up, as a consequences of which those bits of skin are more likely to be cut by the blades.

i used to shave my ex all the time, not a D/s thing, just one of those wierd couple things we had. In my experience, shaving him in the shower, with all the steam and everything, was the best place to do it. But i'd imagine putting a warm, wet towel on his face for a couple minutes first would achieve the same effect. Use lots of shaving cream, use short strokes, and rinse off the blade in hot water after every 2nd or 3rd stroke. As for the direction, kind of depends on how coarse his hair is. Always start in the direction of the hair growth, if his hair's relatively fine, that should be enough. If he's like my ex, with super thick, super coarse hair, that's not gonna cut it for a totally smooth shave. After you've completely shaved him, in the direction of the hair growth, rinse or wipe off his face with a warm, wet cloth, re-lather him up with shaving cream, and shave him again, this time going against the grain of the hair, very gently and again with short little strokes. Make sure to watch out for any pimples or moles, cuz trust me, you don't wanna take those off with a razor. Eep! Have him tilt his head away from the side you're shaving, to keep the skin taut. Careful near the Adam's Apple, especially if he's got one of those pokey ones (i always made him do that part himself lol). Really, it's not much different from shaving your legs, just think of his whole face like you would when you're trying to get that little spot behind your knee without maiming yourself lol. Have fun :-)

The Man always prefers to have a hot shower prior to shaving. He says it softens the beard, and it is right out of the shower that he puts on the shaving cream. If you want him restrained, I might recommend a hot damp towel on his face for 5 or 10 minutes to soften the beard.

And if it's over his eyes, so he can't see you getting out the razor and has to wait until he feels it.

Excellent...cept I could not do it in the shower: not enough light and I do better when Master is sitting down so I can move around.

A few other hints:

  • When I first started shaving him (mostly I do his head these days) I used a dab of Alum on my fingers. (the stuff that steptic stick is made from but you get it in the spice section of your grocery store). This allowed me to stretch areas of the skin taunt without slipping.
  • Start with a moist blade. I soak our Mach3 in the sink for 5 minutes before shaving.
  • Rinse the blade often. Use a nail brush to remove hairs.
  • Qood quality shaving cream or shaving soap is important.

chellekitty -> RE: The correct way to shave. (9/21/2007 7:14:26 PM)

wouldn't it be more fun with a straight razor?  but i wouldn't "learn" how to do that from people online...i'd learn from someone who could teach me in person...with hands on demo's....

sirguym -> RE: The correct way to shave. (9/22/2007 7:00:15 AM)

Using a shaving oil can be easier than a shaving foam when shaving somebody else.

If you're not confident using an old-fashioned cut-throat razor, don't - but maybe have one around and show it as as though you're going to use it. after you've tied him down ...

canupleaseme -> RE: The correct way to shave. (9/24/2007 1:10:21 PM)

Thankyou for your replies.  Apologies for my late response.

I have taken loads of notes and hopefully found a willing subject for practise [:D] I won't be using a blade like in the barbers but having it as a prop is a great idea I love a good head fuck.
Again many thanks [:)]

goalie62 -> RE: The correct way to shave. (9/24/2007 3:09:47 PM)

I must be kind of insane then because I shave in the shower using regular soap.  The only "at the sink" shaving I do is right around my new goatee so I can keep it properly shaped.  I like warm and wet and I shave first in the direction of the hairs and then against the grain because I like it super close.  YMMV.

Niklas -> RE: The correct way to shave. (9/24/2007 8:41:00 PM)

The best way to be shaved is - all!

All gone. No hair at all.

If you like to present your pussy for me  - there shall be nothing hiding it, or in the way.

But if you have some white/golden one - let it be on your legs!
Nothing more beautiful than a sun-tanned body with some shiny golden hairs!

TotalState -> RE: The correct way to shave. (9/25/2007 4:33:36 AM)

Quick reply:

I'd like to note that there is a middle ground between shaving only with the grain and going against it.  Go sideways to get those stubborn chin/pussy hairs.  And learn your shavee - different people have different hair, and may have more sensitive skin.  Many men get easily ingrown hairs if they shave too close (or too much against the grain), and the same goes for women (ingrown crotch hairs are not fun).

In addition, I heartily agree on what people have been saying about warmth (towel, water, etc), since it softens the skin for shaving.  Also heat up the razor (a cold razor against a sensitive body part is no fun)!  But don't wash with soap beforehand, because that may dry up the skin, making it more sensitive.

Edit: And for pity's sake, remember to apply aftershave lotion afterwards.  That's especially important if your skin isn't perfectly clear.
