That's right, Manaphy will be given away at Toys R Us locations on September 29 from noon until 3:00 PM.

It's mentioned in the new Nintendo Power (October 2007 issue, the one with Super Mario Galaxy featured on the cover). So just bring your DS + Pokemon game (remember to charge the battery just in case..) to a participating Toys R Us at that time.

More details:

"The Pokemon will be holding a Red Scarf like the one in the animated feature, and it will be enclosed in a Cherish Ball- a Poke Ball that is not otherwise available when playing Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. When you release a Pokemon from the Cherish Ball, a colorful animation appears. Manaphy is also the only Pokemon to have the move Heart Swap, which allows it to switch all stat modifications with an enemy."

The article also says to check out pokemon-games.com or toysrus.com for more information. I'm guessing those sites will soon say which locations are participating.

For all of you out there who are pokemon nerds like me <3

Now I know where my best friend where will be..

I have to admit, it's really a brilliant marketing move.

Does anyone detect irony in Pokemon? After all, first we're taught at an early age that having pets fight other pets is okay. Then, when we grow up, we get a fine and jail sentance for having animals fight each other.

As a society, how are we suppose to know right from wrong when we're told one thing in our youth and be subjected to punishment for what we thought was right to begin with?

*shakes fist* Just let me play my cute games in peace. Im 22 and I know none of my pets won't die if I shove em in an airtight ball.

As far as I know, any and all my geek friends who play such games know such too. *throws passively agreesive Chansy at*

*strokes her DS fondly* Crazy man didn't mean it bebe, I'll play gameboy for life.

Even children are able to tell the difference between reality and a video game.  Seriously.  You can go to Toys 'R Us and ask them yourself.
