I have been curious about knife play, and my Sub has expressed an interest in this as well.

I have been reading up on it, and it seems to fall short of a lot.  There is the putting the knife in the frigerator, and it being a total mind screw in terms of the knife and how you use it.  But we want to take it a step further.

My sub would actually like to be cut, and I would like to be able to do that for her.  What are the safe places to cut, what kind of cutting instrument is best, and what is the aftercare and prep required so no infections occur after the fact.

I don't know about the cutting, my ideas involve not cutting, but to be brought to where I trust that person enough not to cut.  That is a tricky question.

what do you mean by cut? because you can draw blood without "cutting" per se.... a whartenburg wheel can draw blood...almost any knife can draw blood...the duller the blade however the more dangerous it is to draw blood with because the more pressure you have to use and the higher the possibility of slipping (like shaving with a non-electric razor)

edited to add: oh and as for safe places to cut: anywhere there is a signifigant layer of fat between the top layer of skin and bone....(think about head wounds bleeding so bad when they are not "so serious" - this goes for on joints or anywhere you can see the veins running across the skin like extremities too) and for aesthetic reasons anywhere not going to be seen by the general public...face, hands, lower legs, etc....i've had perfectly fine "scratches" but blood drawn all over my back, butt, thighs, calves and upper arms in one scene....

if you are talking about cutting for scarification purposes, i would use disposable scaples and i will not talk about techniques on the boards, and i would vehemently insist on being trained by someone in person....you can kill someone with a fuck up in this...not just leave an ugly mark on them...

This is something you should be taking a class on and learning. NOT asking on a message board.

Thanks for the inputs, I will take a class on this, and look into the Whartenberg wheel.

btw, cutting is not something you will see classes on too often...not like flogging or single tails 101 or even needle play (cause i am not sure if Fifth Angel owns a house lol)...i would actually ask around your local community or somewhere that you could feasably travel to for a one on one mentoring type class...but that with standing...the event Tribal Fire in OKC that happens every year in May (you have time to save up lol) usually has more "extreme" classes....2007 had a class on cutting...

Thighs, butt, and inner back (i.e. NOT shoulder blades) are the safest.  But pleae, please, PLEASE do not jump into this until you are massively well versed on the subject!  Unless you are 1000% you know where to cut, how to cut, how to tell if your blade sharp enough, how deep you can go, how to tell if you've gone too deep, and how to treat the wounds afterwards, DO NOT put a blade in another person!

I don't mean to come on so strongly, but knife play, while utterly amazing, is so so so so dangerous, and I don't want to see anyone get hurt.  If you want to chat more about it, feel free to ask/message me privately.

SL,  Actually not too far from you, though it might be a stretch, down in Augusta Georgia, though they do teach in events all over the area, there is a couple who do cutting demos. The group in Augusta is called Airs, and there is a group in Columbia called T3WD that had held cutting demos in the past, as has another group in Greenville SC called SC-Lock.  i know that a South Eastern list of groups and group activities are organized and posted and if i can find the last email i got from them, i  will try to forward it to you, if you are interested.

heartfelt
