I will be moving to the Wilson, NC area within the month, and I would like to know what the scene is like in the Raleigh/Rocky Mount/Wilson/Greenville area.   Does anyone know anything about the scene in this area?

There are some posters on the forum from that area, and i know of a group called TCECK or something like that in the area.

Theres one or two but most is private stuff in peoples homes. Not much of a public scene there. Not alot of people show up to the meetings.

Thank you for the information.   I truly appreciate it.   I know it will not be like the scene I've been involved with in Atlanta where there are parties every weekend at the club, munches every three or four days, and major events every couple of months; however, I knew there had to be something going on in the area.   I really appreciate the help.

I live in Cary--just to the southwest of Raleigh, and thanks for asking a question that I could definitely use.  Private parties are one thing, but it'd be good to peek around and see how many other locals are involved.  Besides, it's a great way to meet new people.  For when it happens:  Welcome to the area.

There's really quite a bit going on around here, but North Carolina has several population centers across the state, so...depending upon what the focus is, people may travel an hour or two. I believe there's a kink group in Greenville and there are a couple in Wilmington and one out toward the Outer Banks. The best overview of kink in the Carolinas and Virginia that I'm aware of is:

In addition to the groups mentioned above, there are two dungeons that attract attention:

I think there are a couple of femdom groups, as well. Female Artists of Domination in the Winston-Salem area and a newish one down in Wilmington hosted by a woman here on collarme ( http://www.collarme.com/bdsm/o/1/v/452884/rzux/97554/default.htm).

The Triangle is starting to develop a bdsm presence in regular clubs with the Aries Lounge (Raleigh) and the Blend (Chapel Hill).

I'd recommend the Triangle Munch Group as the best gateway group to the area. They don't hold socials (leaving that up to the other groups) but they do host a monthly presentation on the first Saturday of each month in Raleigh. The presentations probably draw 35-40 or so on any given month and day-long events by Midori (last year) and Lee Harrington (this year) as well as the annual Fetish Fashion Show and the Holiday Faire draw twice that many. I'm a greeter for that group and would be happy to meet over coffee/coke if you want more information.

I am so familiar with Wilson, NC. When I was there, there wasn't any scene. The nearest action was Raleigh, NC.  I had to move to Florida to be near the kink.

First off, welcome to "Wide Awake Wilson" (I cant help but giggle everytime I hear that) yours will be officially the third profile, including mine, that I have seen from Wilson. The event at the Aries is called Dirge Factory http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dirge-factory/ and it is more the Stand & Model crowd with goth music playing WAAAYYYYY too loud. It gets put on once every three months since they were booted out of one club when management changed hands. (yes that is the actual reason) I have not had the oppertunity to get to the Blend event but is is on my to do list.

The groups that I can tell you about have already been mentioned. I was affiliated with TECKC for a while, but due to some personal issues with a nameless party (I attempt not to air dirty laundry in public) I have stepped away from that group. The dongeon that they usualy have their metings is excellent, and they are a friendly group. there were a couple of groups in Greenville, but one website has not been updated in 3 years, the other 6 months.

If you would like I would be willing to talk more about the wonderful town of Wilson, help you get the lay of the land and such, send me a message on the other side.

Chelle, you lost me... scene on the side of a mountain?? the closest montains to Wilson are about a 6 hour drive

Thank you to everyone!!!!   This information is fantastic, and I really look forward to meeting you at future events.   The seller accepted the offer on my house today, so I will be moving to Wilson on October 12.  So, I should be able to make an event the 19th.  It is going to take me at least a week to figure out how to get to the major interstates!!  Thank God for Mapquest!!!!!!

When did they change it? last I heard it was quarterly. When Dirge Factory was at The Underground it was monthly

I'll second the FAD suggestion, of course I am bias, I own and run it.  :)  Its an awesome group, for Females in any role and males in bottom, switch or submissive roles.  Meetings and super hot parties all over the state.  Love to have you join in and we have a party on the 20th..near Greensboro...initiate you right upon arrival!  :)
