I know, this has probably been covered a million times already, and any links to similar threads would be fantastic.
But I'm a new Domme, and my favorite sub and I are trying to figure out how to help him talk more like a woman, to start his sissification.
It sounds easy, right? No, at least for me it isn't. He talks pretty androgynously to begin with.

So, does anyone have any ideas/experience in this area?

Mmmmmmmm.. how to talk like a woman.  Have him use proper grammar, a good vocabulary and speak intelligently.

Hi Miss Batsy

Look up the website for Transformations - this is a UK crossdresser store. Dont buy anything - its mostly junk, and very overpriced.

But within the site is some of the information you need; the only thing it doesnt cover I think is the up/down intonation at the end of phrases, (men go down - sounding more definite about what they say, women go up, apparently), and vocabulary choice.

The key thing is to lift the voice out of the chest (removing the deep parts) and into the head. He's aiming for acceptably female with his real voice - not falsetto and not overly girly. It needs a lot of practice.

If you have the time and $$ have him take acting classes, or hire an acting coach.  And (if he is into humiliation.) have him explain to the class/teacher/coach about why he is there...............or look into your local community, find someone that is a cd/ts/tg, and and talk to them about it. How to talk, walk.  Have him go to the mall,(or any place where you can sit and view people walking by.) Assign him to watch how women walk, if they are talking, what tone of voice are they using? what does their body launguage seem to say?

Castration generally does the trick, after which those "Hello Kitty" panties
fit nice and snug.

on the subject of surgery - one can get vocal cords tightened to produce a female voice; but this is expensive and very unreliable - many people end up unable to speak at all or having only a hoarse voice from it

For immediate progress, only allow him to speak in whispers.

For intermediate progress, rent some old Lauren Bacall movies and have him study her speech patterns.

For long-term progress, begin to reward his successes at pleasing you with his improvement, and institute a regimen of punishment for lack of progress.

There are some things you can't cover up with lipstick and powder . . .

Marcel Marceau died. In his memory, please observe a moment of cacophony. Thank you.

(I love this!  I wonder what his last words were?)

Well, i've done a little gender studies. In how we communicate, men start with the main idea, they get to the point and explain as needed. We women start with all the details and background info of the story before actually getting to the point.

This is GENERALLY speaking...it's all on a spectrum. But it explains why many guys get frustrated cuz girls won't shut up, and girls get frustrated cuz they think the guys don't listen, don't care, or aren't interested. Aaaanyways...to the point...maybe get him to chatter a bit more, tho you may live to regret it lol...

if you're talking about how women communicate with eachother it's kinda hard I might suggest making him a silent witness to several conversations that you may have with friends or what not. If you're talking about things like voice pitch and what not then I've seen people do some funny shit to raise their voices

Voice... there's various techniques; last I checked, the only one documented online was Melanie Speaks.

Speech patterns... less assertive speech is typically considered more feminine. Asking for confirmation, saying "I feel", rather than "I think", occasionally adding question particles like "no?" or "hmm?" at the end of sentences. Social awareness. More focus on pack bonding and harmony. Taking care to be credibly supportive when walking through the mine field of "Does this dress make me look fat?" Asking questions like that when what you really mean is that you want reassurance. "Don't you think...?", etc...

There are a myriad of differences, a number of which are specific to the culture, some of which are not.

An important point, though, is to pay attention to intonation and body language, which seems near-universal outside tonal languages.

Talking to a good SRS clinic would probably be your best bet in this regard, as there's more than can be covered here, much of it tacit.

Health,
al-Aswad.

Tell him to blurt out every dumb thought that comes into his head and not to try to tie them together with any continuity what-so-ever. Tell him that whenever you are doing something you really enjoy - that's exactly when he should need to talk about his feelings. That should cover it.

I wonder if keeping something in his mouth...maybe even a clothespin on his tongue (on and off for periods of time over a few weeks) would help him break his normal speech patterns and then give him a cleaner slate to start with.  I think so much of what goes into our "voice" is just unknown to us.

Just a thought, and I have absolutely no idea if this is incredibly unhealthy or not.
