For all masochists....Just wondering do you know when you have reached your 'edge' or does your top/Dom etc have to determine that for you?? For me, sometimes i am so far gone into subspace, so to speak, that Master knows more would be too much. However, sometimes i can tell and i know i have reached the edge and i am am the one who has to stop the scene (or take a break anyway...hehehe) Master G's {girl}

I don't know how much I've reached my edge with certain activites as much as the concern over longlasting marks becomes a limitation. Generally however, I have found that when I get into subspace and stop responding to requests for communication (I do, I don't know about others), most Doms stop.

He stops when He is ready. seeing as if he breaks His toys then He can't play with it, i trust Him not to do permanent damage. He knows what i can handle and loves pushing me over the edge. i have only asked Him to stop once during play. He was spanking my bare ass with a studded belt. He did stop, but resumed after a few seconds telling me that i was His to do with as He pleased and He would decide when i had had enough. He succeded in making me more aroused and much more able to take more. may be that was His objective. i usually know when i have reached my edge by the way my body is responding to whatever Master is doing to it. i will start to shake, and tremble, cry, and feel totally out of this world. it is a wonderful feeling.

I feel I have danced on the head of a pin...or was it the edge of a knife? ...either way, it was scary as hell and most often sent me to sub-space. His pleasure is what it was about, in spite of the fact that I got mine. And...it was heaven. Of course ya know when you've been there...I'll tell you about it sometime; but tomorrow is prolly better. b

We don't do subspace so I am always clear about where I am. And my capability to take more continues to move, back and forth depending on god know what. We both are aware of it. And we communicate continuously. Constantly dancing together.

I find it difficult to reach the edge. During impact play, the Dom's arm seems to give out before I'm done. During edge play (breath, knife, etc) there is always the little voice in the back of my head saying "No matter what you feel, you are safe." I already trust him implicitly to not choke the life out of me or cut me fatally - it would tend to break his toy. So truthfully, I really have never felt "the edge". Wondering how it could be done.

I don't strive to find the edge. Our scenes flow...one activity into the other. I have found the edge and walked the tight rope, but it was more about our interaction than the edge. If it came down to it though, I think Daddy would have to be on the look out for me going too far. Subspace makes me almost incoherent. But, He tunes in to what I'm feeling as the scene flows.

I have a better sense of my edge than my partner so I'm the one that stops the scene when necessary. I'm hoping that in time he'll be able to read me better so that I don't have to give as much instructions as I do now (not that I'm doing that much anyways but there are moments where direction is needed and it bothers the hell out of me when I'm half way into subspace). I think it's a working progress.

Everytime I think I am reaching the edge, I end up going farther and when the play is stopped, I'm always wanting more. It's never been me that stops a scene, always the top when he sees it's time to stop. I seem to always want to go just a little farther, and then a little more. I soak it up and revel in it all during a scene. That's just me.

I try to push myself as far as I possibly can in order to improve my pain tolerance and to make Master proud of me for trying. There have been a few occasions, though, where I've managed to actually push myself over the edge and into a complete state of shutdown. I can't bring myself to move or speak, let alone give him the signal or safeword to stop, so it's up to Master to notice that something is amiss. He usually does right away, by the fact that I've stopped responding both with my body and my voice. I tend to go limp and almost catatonic which is a stark contrast to how I usually am during a scene, so it's a fairly noticeable change. He's never let me down, and while I try to avoid being in that situation as much as possible, I think it's happened to most people at one point or another.

when i trust the person i am playing with, they usually do check ins...which is not to say that they ask me how i am doing every 5 minutes....but they at least look into my eyes..and when i stop making noise and when i can no longer focus on anything...they know they could probably do just about anything to me and i would not feel it...i don't think this applies to masochists only though....and yes, i know when i have reached the edge and i gladly dive over...do i tell anyone...umm no..lol cause i am too busy jumping

Master is the one that chooses which edge it is we stomp all over that day... I know there have been a couple of times.. He has asked if I wanted more.. (which freaks me out! lol ) but i think He does it just for the freak out factor.. Mmmmm yummy!
