What do you think of when you see that first flash of lightening, or hear that first peal of thunder? What emotions rise up? What is your favorite thing to do during a thunder storm?

I'll answer, but not until other people have LOL I am just thinking of this because we have been having thunder and lightening for the last 3-4 hours (off and on).

I get really really turned on and I really feel sexy. I love thunderstorms. I love the power and the feeling that happens when it's really rough out. wink...

I think you two are making a connection that I don't. [;)]

But my first reaction to a flash of lightning is :'Yay!' (assuming I am in indoors). Then I start counting for the thunder to figure off how far the storm is and maybe I will go to a window to look at the clouds - storms can be really pretty at a distance.

Emotions? Excitement, pleasure, awe. I like to occasionally check on the progress of the storm to see how wicked it is raining or how whipping the wind is.

Honestly.....during the latest storms I think of Thor, then Woden (Odin) and let my mind wander over brief heroic fantasies, slaying dragons, fighting giants, saving damsels in distress...or putting them in distress. I think of the kind of beings that could control such power as part of their nature. I think about "What If," what if the old gods where actual beings, not exactly as the myths portray, but inspired by real "people." What kind of person could inspire such stories?

Heh heh, I have a pretty fertile imagination. And yes I'm ADHD so most of this is going through my head in about 1 minute and a half to 2 minutes after the storm hits. Part of the reason for my train of thoughts are some of the books I'm reading and some of my favorite stories from the past. I'm mostly Christian although I have....issues with a lot of the doctorines.

Other times i just get kinky pictures: making love (or fucking like animals to be less polite) out on the bay in the middle of the storm....having a sub strapped out to a tree or railing ....running nekkid (yes NEKKID) through one of my dad's fields....rolling around in the mud pit........oh the mind boggles with the possiblities. [:D]

Also thanks for posting this it got me out of my grinding my teeth over wanting to delve into the snakepit that is political discussion...just about anywhere.

"Thunder don't scare me at all. Lightening, well just a little" Blues Traveler.

I can never sleep when it rains. It scares my pet and causes her to cuddle up to me more. So that's always a good thing to be thought of being a protector against Thunder and Lightening as if I could really do something about it. Since I can't sleep, I think hot chocolate and TV. If the power goes out I think about Candles and perhaps a little romance. Or I just may want to go outside and dance in the rain.

Anyways, I hate sunshine. It's hot, burns, blinds, and runs up my A/C bill. Cloudy if not rainy days are good. I hate driving in the rain but I love to walk, play, and fuck in it. Unbreallas are for whimps.

I love thunderstorms. Thunder and lightning make me smile and I'll turn off my radio just to listen to the noise outside. I'll sleep through them without trouble, but yet I wake up at the first sound of someone walking near my bed (I actually know why this is, but I won't go into that here and now).

My sister, on the other hand, is the deepest sleeper imagineable - and she can't sleep through storms.

I love thunderstorms. I find them to be beautiful, and erotic. I love to have sex during a thunderstorm ... I also love to just watch them, snuggled with whoever I can capture to snuggle with (be it Holly, rob, or one of the cats LOL)

faithNZ -> RE: Thunderstorms (7/22/2005 12:50:13 AM)

I'm another thunderstorm lover. Not in the literal sense [&o] but I love to watch a good storm, the closer the better. Maybe I was a storm chaser in a previous life...
The last time I was woken up during a thunderstorm it was my pager, not the actual storm and I wound up driving through hail and flooded streets. I love that stuff!

Oooh I just love storms! Being in Oregon, we don't often get too many decent thunderstorms (strangely enough tonight is supposed to be stormy). I can usually feel when a storm is about to start. The air gets all calm and eerie, cats are outside prowling around, no birds chirping, gives me chills but I love it! I get turned on and think it would be great to have amazing sex during a thunderstorm. I also think of my good friend (and first love) Charlie, who was struck by lightning before my sophomore year in highschool. He, like an idiot, decided to make a call on a payphone just as the storm was starting. It struck the pole and went through the reciever to his hand. He was fine, and got all this publicity... I videotaped his TV interview lol. [:D]

OMG I just had to edit this.... strangely enough a thunderstorm just started!!! Woo hoo! And there hasn't been one at my house all summer! THis is great... of to go watch!

I usually have these thoughts:

1. Shit do i have to turn off my puter?[:@]

2. Is the damn roof gonna leak again?[:@]

3. And i think about our neighbor's horses who were electrocuted when lightening struck their wire fence and they were leaning on it. Poor things.[:o]

4. My Aunt's best friend was struck by lightening when she was in her 20's, spent years in a coma, woke up and has been in a wheel chair ever since. She is over 90 now and is severely diabled physically but is as sharp as anyone mentally.

5. If i am on the golf course then i think shit will we get to finish the round and where can we take cover.[:(]

Otherwise i love it.[:)]

EmeraldSlave2 -> RE: Thunderstorms (7/22/2005 12:10:23 PM)

I get turned on and excited. From my experience almost everyone else does too.

sabis -> RE: Thunderstorms (7/23/2005 2:15:26 PM)

i love storms, and always have. I grew up in New England, where there are extremely intense electrical storms, and now reside in Oklahoma, where sometimes those massive storms get downright frisky (ie tornados).

During storms, i tend to open the porch door, tilt the blinds so no one can see in, and lay naked on the floor or bed, to enjoy the cool breezes and the electric, powerful feel in the air. Of course, given that our home loses power virtually every time it storms and there isn't much else to do but enjoy myself / ourselves in the dark.... ::grin::

One confession: I've had many a fantasy about making wild animal love with my partner out in a grassy field in the middle of a thunderstorm. We're soaked to the skin, a little muddy from the dirt, one with the elments.... Sadly, reality intrudes with small details like ticks and chiggers and.... ::sigh:: but it's still a pretty picture....

Precisely!

However I can sleep when the skies open up and pour. But most of the time I do my very best to listen for as long as possible. There's just something incredibly soothing about the sound of rain on my roof. Maybe it's just the fact that my area of California has cooled down enough for me to be comfortable.

Sweeticing -> RE: Thunderstorms (7/23/2005 6:21:08 PM)

I have always loved thunderstorms . I always go out and sit in the mist of them. I have taken my kids out so they are not scared of them. You can really tune in and feel the storm build and blow in. I guess its the energy build in the air. If its not raining to hard I can usually convince hubby to go out and have sex in it. Prob the best I have ever had was in the rain.
