I agree- but my partner and I were fully up front with the things we liked and disliked before any serious commitment was made.
Not to mention- what about interests that develop over time? What if you dislike something about him that presents itself over time?
What about something you dislike about your self- that he ALSO dislikes, and working together to make it no longer an issue for either of you?

(Meh, and I just redid the title coz it was annoying me.)
This may be semantics then- for me "irk" is just a gradation of "dislike". I understand your point about not getting involved with someone if there's something about them you just seriously DO NOT LIKE- but in a general "like the least" or "dislike" sense, I don't think that's a big deal.
