While I know of the wonderful books out there for people in the lifestyle, and own most of them, I'm wondering what specific online articles/essays dominants have found useful in helping them learn more about their dominant natures.

I'm not asking for non-specific ezine links, as I do have a lot of those bookmarked...I'm really curious about specific articles that really influenced or inspired you as a dominant.

I can search for myself (and do), but as a sub I'm not sure I can judge what a dominant would find especially useful.

I appreciate the time and effort...thanks.

While I realize that you are looking for links to specific essays, frankly, its a bit time consuming to list every decent essay I've seen on-line in the last 7 or 8 years.

Do searches for Jay Wiseman, and Jack Rinella. Both write on-line articles in several gay e-zines. The Leathermen community has some very thoughtful insights to D/s that apply to straight Dominants and submissives as well. Things that straight people usually don't think about.

A Domme friend of mine swears by Jack Rinella, and applies much of his wisdom to her straight male submissive with great results.

Go to Castlerealm. Their library is filled with articles that range from the idiotic to the inspirational. There is a very good article entitled "What is Domination" that I would recommend. Search the archives in the "KingDom" section, and you will find some great source material.

There are also several insightful articles in the submissives section that Dominants should read. For some reason, they've placed a number of articles about setting up scenes there.

Castlerealm sports some 400 pages of D/s information, and has around a thousand links according to the information scrolling along the bottom of their screen.

There are also some good essays available on Bondage.com, Alt.com, and other sites. As with everything else, you have to seperate the wheat from the chaff.

I certianly didn't intend to put anyone out. I just thought some of the dominants on here might have an article or two bookmarked in their favourites they'd like to share.

I've certianly done a lot of surfing and seen a lot of articles...but, as a sub, I'm not exactly sure what a dominant might consider helpful in this regard.

For insight on the topic you are looking for now and other topics, i agree that Jack Rinella is an excellent place to start. You can subscribe to his Ezine and receive information in the future that is sure to be thought provoking and enlightening. : ) He came to Tucson and did a seminar at Desert Dominion for us, one that left me going "whoa!" Oh! and for grins and giggles, check out his slaves butt if you ever get the chance. It's the best if man butts are your thing. *grins*

The reason it is difficult to direct you to one or two in particular is simply that each of these authors and more have a unique perspective on what Dominance means and how to express it. The ones I have copies of are the ones that spoke to my unique concept of what it is and helped me define it from the generalizations. The ones I like may not be as powerful or even informative to anyone else.
