So I bought a rather nice grade, basic mountain bike a year ago. I'm just riding it today. >>; I think what turned me off is that the first time I rode it a year ago, I ended up passed out on the side of the rode from over-exertion as I have this thing where I can't realize if I'm working myself too hard, and then I had 3 asthma attacks on the way back to my house. *shudders* Bad experience.

But god damn is this fun. My backyard is a steep incline with tons of rocks and brush to go over. Granted, I did almost run into the trees, but woo! Fun. :P

Anyone else enjoy Mountain Biking, Cycling, or just riding bikes in general? I sort of fell out for a while, and I'm in the worst shape of my life. Blech, but hopefully I can get back into the swing of things.

good for you greta; at least you are trying!! i went from biking at least 10 miles a day to zero-splat...ankle injury did me in for over a year. consequently, i've gained weight, am tight as a guitar string and tire easily. i'm starting all over from zero. i've started a very light weight training and stretching program to strengthen the muscles in my legs, etc. it takes time to build up endurance. keep up the good work and make sure you have the right bike/equipment....if you don't, your ass will speak to you loudly and often!!!

dream well,

Cycling is my favorite exercise, though I've slacked off a lot lately. I prefer road riding to mt biking because mt biking is kinda noisy and because I have to pay more attention to rocks and trees and stuff; whi8le around here there are plenty of country roads with little traffic so I can just space out when I ride

The trees are starting to change color around here so I'll try to go for a spin tomorrow.

Oy, I love bicycling, but I abhor anything uphill. I get really gung-ho in the first five seconds, but then I curse God, give up and I end up walking My bike. We often hold hands like this and talk about poetry.
Plus, the last time I rode was up in the San Juan Islands, and, while beautiful, was maddening with the mosquitoes.

Love,
GM
