One more thing, Susan.  When you are labeling your fudge, bear in mind that it needs to include an allergen warning if it contains nuts or was prepared in a kitchen where there are nuts.  Many people are seriously and highly allergic to them and oils from them can remain on utensils, etc., no matter how they are washed.

Good luck to you!

Don't forget to hit up all of the coffee shops as an outlet also.

Ya'll are full of great advice and suggestions, and well wishes thank you!

Coffee shops are a great idea, too! Thanks, Aileen. feastie, thanks for the advice about nuts and nut oils, and potential allergen lablelling. KMsAngel, thanks for the kind words.

I am so excited! I just sighed up to be a food-vendor exhibitor at one of the Mid-west's largest Holiday boutique and craft shows, the week-end of Nov. 1-4th.

I can't  believe I forgot about direct mail and brochures! I even used to work (briefly) for a direct mail marketing list company, too. Guess I am thinking about a lot, lately. This week-end, when my friend comes over to get a feel for how I want my website to look when she designs it, I am going to ask her if she will help me design a brochure (or at least a foldable flyer, with an order form attached), so I can have something to send potential corporate account customers. I need to look into printing and mailing costs for that idea. That may have to wait until next week, though (this week is already full of stuff to do! hehe).

Wow - if I could mail those brochures by like the 2nd week in November (or sooner), that would be great. I know list companies will sell mailing lists of names, addresses and the name of a key corporate contact person for as little as .15 cents a name (or less, sometimes) - but quality in this case matters, as far as the information you get, so I might pay more.  A 2-3% return, in terms of sales, is considered pretty high and doing well, in the Marketing world, for direct mail marketing - so I can count on buying hundreds of list names.

Well - in a few minutes, I am off to the bank to open up a corporate account. I am gonna be spending a few dollars getting this venture started - pray for me that I make some as well (I am confident, but a prayer or two never hurts!).

Thanks for the good ideas and support ya'll!

P.S. Maybe I shouldn't be publishing a "trade secret" here - but ya'll have been so nice, and it's not exactly proprietary knowledge - BUT - if you want to see the kind of boxes the fudge will be mailed in - if it is ordered as a Holiday gift - then just go to the following web-site:

www.Kitchenkrafts.com

On the Home page, on the left side, go to the word Candymaking, and click on it.

Now go to the top of the page, and click on the word Packaging (middle of the page, at the top).

Now go to the word that says Next on the top (or bottom) of the page, and click to the fourth page.

The white boxes I am using that have the red bow imprinted, are the 3rd (last) image in the top row.

IMO, this is a much more attractive box than some I've seen put in the marketplace. Eventually, maybe I will have my own boxes manufactured - but for now I do plan to stick a oval-shaped gold-tone, foil label on the top with my company's name on it.

The candy containers I am using to pour the fudge into are an exact fit for the box - so it looks like it all belongs together, etc.

Anyway - I thought it was fortuitous that I stumbled upon that web-site. It must be a sign I am destined to do this, hehe.

Talk to ya'll soon! Have a great day! [:)]
