grits -> RE: Eating (7/24/2005 10:10:24 AM)

i was brought up in the south, although i'm not sure if that has any relevance or not. From my earliest memories, in a multi-generational home, my grandfather was served first, my father, my brother, my grandmother, me and then my mother. i never really thought anything about it, that's just the way it was. Once i was married, i carried on the "tradition" by serving my husband first. Over the years i gave birth to 3 sons, so the "tradition" got a little fuzzy..usually determined by who could eat the meal with the least help, or who was fussing the loudest..lol. grits
