Status: offline 		I will be attending DomCon in Atlanta in a couple of weeks.  Having never attended an event such as this I am curious as to what to expect.  Will it be non stop BDSM with whips cracking and moans and screams filling the air, or a flea market atmosphere where we all have the same kink?  Any thoughts or relations of your experience would be appreciated.

Status: offline 		Expect it to be like almost any other conference at a hotel in many respects.
Vendor area (not quie flea market atmosphere) with toys from very high to average quality
Classes on various aspects of the "lifesyle" classes on play techniques, classes on relationship skills, classes on mental aspects, classes on community aspects. (taught by many people in the community regionally and nationally known)
Expect parties during the evenings, as well as entertainment at the SE Olympus Contest.
Expect to be a bit shocked at the sight of a couple hundered of your kinky brothers and sisters all in one place at the same time.

Status: offline 		Wow, this sounds rather intriguing. I didn't know about DomCon, so I don't think I have the money for it this year. I will -definitely- go next year, though.

SELF
DomCon
Spring in the South
Frolicon (gateway event lots of beginner classes)

And then there are dozens of other events in the southeast region and beyond of this type as well.

Status: offline 		We'll be going *dances a little* can't wait! My girls are coming to visit again from outta town so we're all driving each other crazy with it, LOL.

I'm rather out of the loop when it comes to get-togethers in general, and the one thing that stops me from going to a lot of the functions is age limit. Most have a 21+ age limit while I'm only 19. I do joke with my non-kinky friends that I have more to celebrate when I turn 21... BDSM-related functions such as munches and Frolicon.

Status: offline 		I'm not sure what the age limit (lower) is for Whippersnappers munch. I know their parties are 21+ because the facility requires it. But the munches I'm not sure.

Whippersnappers is the TNG group here in ATL 39 and under but I'm not sure as I said about the lower limit for the munches.

Status: offline 		Daddy and I will be at DomCon again this year. Wahhhhoooo!! Last year's event was my first BDSM event and I totally enjoyed it. We were really hoping to be able to attend on Saturday for the SE Olympus Contest, but unfortunately that is the same night as the UM's homecoming dance. But, we will be there Friday and plan to attend a class on electro-play and see the terrific vendors such as Archer and his wonderful Elegant.
