I'm speaking of my former neighbors in Terre Haute. Their rooster was in my yard so much that I jokingly said that we shared it.

The new neighbors... not really had a chance to yet.

let's see the guy on the left is some former military dude or something he goes deep sea diving or what not he wanders over occasinally when he's drunk. the other side.. dunno they bought the trailer and are fixing it up but have not seen anyone move in yet. across the  road is my grandad and some couple and to his left is some couple who are retired.. yeah i dont know too many people in my neighborhood and i like it that way

I live on the same peice of property my family owned 160 years ago. Everyone within about 5 miles is either related or their family has lived there so long they might as well be related. So yea, Ive got apretty decent relationship with my neighbors. We share farm land for the garden and the cattle, we have family easter egg hunts and sugar cane grindings. We have huge 150-200 people family dinners about 3 times a year....I know my kids can go to any house in the neighborhood and be taken care of, I also know that no matter where they go if someone sees them doing something bad they will get propery handled and returned back to me thouroghly embarrased. My kids spend more time at the neighbors during the summer than they do at home..and I think thats great that they have so many cousins their own age to play with. If someone shows up in the neighborhood that isnt supposed to be there, it gets taken care of pretty darn fast....I know there are people helping look out for me, and I look out for them. Whenever we go on vacation I have plenty of willing teenagers to come feed my animals and bring in the mail. I take some of my neighbors to breakfast in town once a week (ok, so they are my grandparents...)

This is the  post of the day!  Interesting history- lovely- and most of all; you are the only one I known who grinds sugar cane! :)

GH, part of me would like to be in a town like that. Jenn and I got lost in the northern tier. a mountainous and less populated part of PA. anyhow we asked for directions. the nice lady actually drove in front of us to SHOW us where it was. that would not have happened down here in the valley.

I know their first names, we wave and/or say "Hi", that's about it.
They are both single.  The guy on one side chats more than the other guy.
