I am going to try and make this as easy as possible for everyone.
Here it is:  I am bipolar.  Most of the time I am a very good balanced Domme.  Even in mania, I would not hurt someone.
What I need as a Domme with bipolar disorder is to get my slave to switch over for a few weeks until my mood stablizes.  He does it all except being an actual Dom.  Mentally and emotionally he is there.
He just cannot hurt me when all I need sometimes is someone to control me and make me feel safe.
Before you all send the flames, think about what you would need if you were in this situation.  We are on a three week break at the moment from BDSM.  We see each other and talk to each other every day, but times like these, he needs to take the whip.

Hmm..I'm not quite sure what you're really tryin to get at.
But, let me give it a go.
If it's not within him to switch over, then you shouldnt make him. Beause chances are...He'll blotch it up, could cause phsycal injury on your part and most def mental injury on his.
Yet, if it's something he wants to do...Thinks he can do..Then I would say...Train him when you're in one of your more stable moods.

&& Seek some sort of help for the bipolar.

Thats all I have to say, hope it helps and best of luck.

Do you need him to Switch or just Top? I am guess that he could Top to make you happy as I have heard of many subs doing that. Just a thought.

Be careful in regards to asking someone to go against their nature. I was dating a girl once in a vanillia relationship and she said to me, "Do whatever you want, make me, etc." I went catatonic. So just be careful some people are hardwired one way only.

Find a professional dominant (male or female as you like.)

All the benefits of getting your 'fix' without any of the icky emotional issues of making someone do something they aren't wired to do.

All of these answers are good.   We are simply taking a break from the scening part of the life, not our relationship.
Don't worry, I have seen my doc this week and he has told me what to do, and my slave seems to be more bold than he usually is in a protective sort of way.  I am allowing it.  He is in charge, not me at the moment.  When this mood stabelizes in a couple of weeks, then we will go back the other way.   I have to accept that he is going to do that.  Well, he has been my slave for three years now, and I am certainly not going to get rid of him any time soon.
That is really what I need from him at this time.
Someone suggested a Pro_Dom/me.  That would definitely be great, but not many in this area.
For now, I am resting and working.   Taking care of getting myself better, and yes, learning all about my illness.
Odd thing this bipolar nightmare is.  One never knows when it will errupt.  That doesn't give me the right to use that on someone.   I don't.
Hope you all have a great day.

I have to appreciate the way you openly and honestly deal with the issue and consider his safety and well-being in a difficult situation.  I think you would be suprised to find there are probably pro-doms in your area as well, although maybe not as visible.
good luck to you,
l

I am sure there is someone who could fit that bill, but you really need to be ready to have one hell of an offer for them to consider it.  Someone who is bipolar, with so much instability that they REQUIRE that the sub switches on random order according to YOUR dysfunction- but without any actual authority at all to make a serious effective dominant?  Not very appealing on the surface.
