Ugh.  And I hate 'joy to the world' just because it ALWAYS gets stuck in my head.

I have come to abhor the holiday season. Which is a shame, because I used to loved it. I was a Christmas freak for many years. The last straw was walking into my favorite little boutique store last night and being being brought up short by the sight of a....Christmas tree in full regalia. It's friggin October 2nd people. A f*ing tree and carols were playing. I'm fearful of the day that we're barely through Labor Day and the decorations start going up.

steps off my little soapbox and stomps it to bits. I need some chockie.

Back to the OP. Even when I loved Christmas I detested the song Silver Bells by Peggy Lee. Something about that slight slurred shhilver bellssh just makes my skin crawl.

Status: offline 		I actually adore Christmas and most of the Christmas songs.  But I do remember growing up my mother hating the song Grandma got run over by a reindoor.  She was very insulted thinking it was mean( cause I have a grandma) lol.. So I kinda played it cause I knew it pissed her off lol

awww kitten *hugs* it took me 10 years till after my mom died before i could even listen to christmas carols as she died right before christmas and i was singing them to her when she died.  It will take a while.  Surround yourself with loved ones.  Maybe even get away for the season.

i remember working for Marshall Field's one year and they had us temps begin decorating Christmas trees and stocking ornaments, etc in the middle of September ...they told us it's to give early shoppers a jump on the holiday shopping season on Oct 1st. it's sickening to see holiday decorations for Halloween in the middle of August and Thanksgiving/Christmas stuff now!  if i ruled the world, holiday decorations would not be displayed until a month before the holiday ...not 2-3 months before.

*hugs*  thanks sweetie....it'll be three years the 18th of dec since my sweetie before LordFallcon passed away.  so  its really hard.  sometimes i swear my life reads like a bad soap opera.....

hubby and kids will be around, so will the daughter's new sweetie.  just ready for all of it to be over with.  getting past the first year is the hardest.

ALL OF THEM!!!!  ALL OF THOSE THRICE DAMNED AUDIO EARWORMS!!!!

I worked at Toys R Us for quite a few years.  The holiday music loop was only 40 minutes long.  I would work 10-14 hours on the floor.  So I would hear the same songs 15-21 times a day ... 5-7 days a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas eve.

I used to dream about hacking the loop and putting in Electric Hellfire Club or My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult.

LOL Here in Cali it isn't unusual at all. I think there are at least 8 houses on my block alone that still have their Xmas lights up year round. The rest of them just don't actually use them year round.

I'll stop hijacking now.
