Status: offline 		Ok, the burgler was stealing copper pipe from a house who's resident he awakened with his sawing or cutting and the cop hit him after being handcuffed?
The cop should have hit him a lot harder for being STUPID.
Sorry but I vote for the cop this time.
This moron should be thanking his lucky stars that the homeowner didn't kill him!

Status: offline 		Looked to me like the officer tried to guide him into the car.  The guy tensed and didn't move, seemed to be resisting getting into the car, so he got a little inducment punch to get in the car.  Probably should have just tazed him, I suppose.

Same applies if he was being "bolshie". shouting about his rights and refusing to get into the police car.
Once apprehended ....do as you are told !!!!!!
Problems can be sorted out in our wonderful court system lol

I wonder what the home owner thinks ?

Status: offline 		Innocent until proven guilty. Or are we forgetting that? "Suspect" means just that. And without audio or a better view who knows if he was bloshie or spitting. Even if he was - that's more charges to add but doesn't, in my opinion, justify hitting a handcuffed man.

And I guess the punch to his neck/head area was cuz he got stuck? There were 3 or 4 cops right there. None of them seem to be responding to a hostile or resistant individual. Doesn't that mean something to you? Ah - but one does turn his head at the critical moment so he could say he 'didn't see anything'. How convenient.


You are free to disagree with me. But don't put words in my mouth and don't change the meaning of what I say to make it insulting. The second you do that you make it personal. That's not in the spirit of this forum, it's not in the spirit of mature debate, and it just has no class.

Agreed. And did anyone read the rest of the article? it declassifies earlier misbehavior of the particular police officer in question - it really is disgusting, but hell, who am I to truly know or judge right? Wouldn't want any of that going on...

For a man who claims to have served in uniform to protect the constitution you seem to have very little regard for that document.
Lets try it from the top.
The cops job is to investigate,detain and arrest.
The courts job is to determine guilt or innocence.
The prisons are where the guilty are punished.
It is not the cops job to determine guilt or innocence nor is it the cops job to punish.
This is not a new concept.
