I have been chatting with a Dom who has made it very clear that he expects tributes to him. the only place I have ever encountered the idea of tributes is with Male subs paying them to Fem Dommes, and then they are usually substantial, and leaving outsiders complaining about financail abuse. This Dom is asking for miniscule tributes, financailly. Any dinner out we have, that he paid for, would clearly pay for a couple dozen of the types of tributes he mentioned expecting - he gave me a specific list of small gifts. I see the draw of this, at a mental level. Paying him for beating me. I mean, I would enjoy giving him gifts, anyway. Calling them a tribute does add some excitment. This is clearly an important issue for him. He even mentioned that he knew his last sub was getting upity when she quit giving him tributes. Does anyone else have any experience with the idea of Tributes?

Tributes, whether given to or by males or females, can be a sign of esteem and respect. This appears to be exactly what he is going for, and who cares if he is male, it is always nice to have appreciation shown, and I don't think anything is wrong at all; on the contrary, I am sure you would want to gift him if you did indeed hold him in esteem, and he has given you a list to pick from so that you get him something he will like and wants. I call that a win-win situation!!!

greetings tsatske, would not be my cup of tea, personally...i love giving Him small gifts, but not because it's expected of me. the idea of not giving tribute making someone "uppity" also rubs me the wrong way, personally. your mileage may vary. i think it's important to decide how YOU feel about it, how this will affect your feelings and views of the relationship, and whether or not that is what is best for you and your relationship. respectfully, annabelle.

I don't think I would enjoy paying for his time. I don't want to be with someone who doesn't want to be with me, and who keeps a record of what I've paid for his company. And then to have to pay him for having sex/play with me? Major turn off for me. But others think it's hot. However, the question here is if you share this kink of his? He gets off on the idea of a woman being so desperate to get beat and fucked by him that she'll pay him, as if he were some high class/high cost call girl. I'm assuming his ex didn't share his kink in this manner but went along with it as long as her needs were being met. If you don't share this, how long do you think you could do this before it interfered with you feeling that you were in a relationship where you both wanted to be there.

I personally would have a problem with what you described. It is one thing not to do, buy or make things for your Master on your own initiative to show you care and respect, but to me it is another thing to literally get a shopping list regardless of the economics involved. I think giving of things voluntarily is important. Making him cookies, buying something small you thought he would like and things of that nature. You know, just like all other relationships. But to demand tribute as proof of devotion to me goes under the umbrella of insecurity and issues. Like he is afraid or clueless about if a person cares for them or not and needs a tangible item to comfort him.

If it floats your boat, great, do it and be happy! [:)] It's not for me. I'm more one who gives on my own what I can afford in ways I can afford and enjoy very much doing so. If it were expected of me in order to have the relationship, I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't feel wanted and valued and fulfilled in such a relationship. That's just me and my wiring and issues. I both want and need to freely give and will give more and with deeper meaning than if I'm expected to and have a list of the choices that must be used in the giving. It really is about what works best for the ones in the relationship.

If you two share this kink, enjoy! It seems like you're overthinking it... would you do the same if it was another form of "tribute", say kissing his feet whenever he grants you a spanking or some other such? If he likes it and the idea appeals to you, take the pleasure you find in it.

Rumpus, if by, would you do the same, you mean, would I come to a forum and ask others what thier experiences are, yea, I would It is what I enjoy about forums, hearing other's thoughts. I don't necessarily base my decissions on them, but I enjoy the feedback and discussion. That's why 'Whatever floats your boat', by itself, is not a really helpful answer. I already was going to do, whatever floats my boat. I just want to know what other think, what thier experiences are. It is why I frequent these forums.
