a SADIST and a MASOCHIST?  

The interesting part about me is that I am STRICTLY a DOMINANT Being, innately and hard wired to be Dominant; yet I enjoy both giving and receiving pain.  Unfortunately I have never allowed anyone to inflict pain on me due to my dominant nature YELLING HELL NO!!!!  I take care of this desire myself and it is satisfied.[:-]

I do not think I am alone in this issue... Just wanted to see who else is facing this... So I will KNOW that I am not alone LOL.

I think its fairly common.  One of the dominants in my life enjoys pain and instructs me on ways to hurt him.  He also gets great amusement watching me sweat and worry about it!

I love inflicting pain on others and myself BUT I will not allow another person to Top from the bottom LOL; it just goes against who I am innately.  So I just inflict pain on myself.... it gets the job done :)

But what if it's sadistic to the bottom, to force them to do it?

Topping from the bottom and inflicting pain because someone is told to are two differet things.
When they want to direct the scene for you, though you dont wan tthem to, thats topping from the bottom.
If you are a masochistic Dom, and your sub follows orders to hurt you, its just another order for them.

Ive known a few, they werent switches, they just liked the endorphin rush of pain.
They wouldnt bottom, either, though I have beaten them. It wasnt a D/s thing, at all, just a pain thing.

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer, being a masochist does not have to be in conflict with being a top or a dominant. For example, who's to say that you can't order someone to do nasty fun owie things to you?

LOL I know what topping from the bottom is I was kidding :)  [:D]  I understand what you mean Iamamachine; however for me it does conflict.  The thought of having another person dominate me or inflict pain on me EVEN if I ordered them to just doesn' t rub me the right way at all but that is just me..  SMILES

I am a masochist who is also a sadist.  Which makes it easier for me since I have had to take care of my own needs on more than a few occasions.  The maso in me loves the pain.. the sadist in me loves coming up with ideas for pain.

You certainly can be both, and a great way to get the pain while still being dominant is to wrestle with your sub. :3 I enjoy it greatly.

I get great pleasure from both inflicting pain on my slave, and from actually having pain inflicted on me.

I understand your situation, being that I am a sadist and a masochist and a dominant.  I even share your trepidation about having a sub/slave inflict the pain I want.  And its not a whole lot of pain, but its a whole lot more than my pet can take.

Anyhow, I digress.  This is where a switch comes in handy.  Not a submissive and not a dominant but both things at once.  Someone who will do what I tell him to so that I can get that endorphin rush all us sado/maso's love so much.  Also someone who has felt both ends of the pain, the giving and the taking.  Someone who will stop without use of a safeword because he knows its not his job to push my limits, its my job to push his.

And I never get restrained, ever.  No cuffs, ropes, chains, ties or any other sort of household item that we all love.  So my someone also knows that whatever it is he is going to do to me, I will be free to hurt him back worse if he so much as thinks about pushing.  Because I will have him restrained at some point... (insert evil laugh).

Be secure in your dominance enough to let go.

It's not at all topping from the bottom to enjoy painful sensations.  Bottoming is giving up control.  Telling someone to do an activity that is typically considered submissive is not giving up control.

In the beginning I had wondered if I was not secure enough of my dominance to let go; but that really is not the issue with me per say since you are right I would not be restrained in anyway.  It is just the thought of someone; anyone beating me that turns me off.  I feel as if that is not how it is supposed to be.  I have no problem inflicting pain on myself and I do push my own limits quite often; it's both the sadist and masochist in me.  Many I have played with or discussed this with have mentioned having someone like a switch play with me; inflict some pain on me because I ordered it too WHICH would still have me in control but for some hard pressed reason I just don't see that happening and it is not because I am NOT secure but rather because I am if that makes sense to you.

Im strictly Dominant and yet I bottom sometimes. I tell him, my male sub, what to do to me and he follows my orders. Anything strange about this? No, not a darned thing. I just know what it is that I want and I go get it.

Beautiful name by the way; yes I am the type who goes after what she wants; yet it is the pain I want per say not A person inflicting the pain on me: this is where the problem lies and that is why I have to take care of myself in that respect.

Definitely.  I far prefer giving to receiving but if I didn't like pain I probably wouldn't have played football, rugby, and boxed since over the last 15 years.  Although there is only one person who can 'get away' with inflicting pain on me, and she posts on this s/n too.

Maso only here.  And glad I'm a sub/slave/bottom coz I could never inflict it.  I had a hard time spanking my children...lol.  Even as a sub, I cannot obey an instruction to inflict pain on a Dom/Domme.  I must say I respect those who can be both, but glad I don't envy their ability.
