What is the purpose of a D/M only training a s/s if he isn't going to take her for his own?

Depends on what you are training them for. Because Valyraen doesn't give a damn about slave positions and the like, he (and I) regard it as pretty useless. But for someone who values such things, a sub/slave who was already trained in them might have some bonus points.

It sounds like you've just experienced that as even that simple question has the sound of bitterness in it. Honestly, I don't know - I think it would depend a lot on the girl and what her nature is, but from my perspective most D/Ms prefer to train their own girls, and often with pretrained girls there are things you have to "un-train" from them. Most men don't give a flying farrah about someone elses protocols either.

If anything, I would say the benefit would be in teaching the girl more about herself than in training her in specifics.

I guess the purpose I'm speaking of is for the purpose of training someone who's been in the lifestyle but hasn't necessarily had a lot of training.

Again, I still don't see the point in it. Training a girl to your tastes and desires, and teaching her about herself, uncovering the glorious gem within is one of the most exquisite pleasures a Dom can savor.

What kind of training?

Every dominant/owner does things differently. If you are trained to suit dominant X perfectly, what if you end up with dominant S? I feel that a sub/slave is better off taking cooking or sewing classes, learning how to garden or how to make bondage furniture and toys.

For padding out one's D/M guru CV - tends to be naive newbie fem/sub bait....

Focus.

I presume because they both enjoy it as a friends with benefits situation. If they both don't enjoy it, or she was lied to, well she does know how to pick up her toys and go home.

LOL Aquatic...  taking cooking and sewing classes, or learning how to garden would have been useless to me because I ended up with a Dom who won't allow me to do any of that... personally I think people should just take the time to get to know themselves... and not worry so much about what anyone else might need or require of them... their not much use to anyone unless they know who they are first.

It's usually a way for a Top to justify dating casually.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Only training a sub/slave (10/5/2007 9:45:59 PM)

why don't he allow you to do any of that?

MOSTLY it's so you can feel your sub squishies and cool points of being "in a relationship" without all the annoying adult responsibility scary stuff, and so the dom can get laid without feeling trapped in a commitment and get out easier when things get tough.

BUT it can be useful in terms of getting you exposed to new ideas and processes and simply get you used to the idea of being trained- if you get with a truly competent trainer and not just a seductive horn dog.

He feels I was not made to do those things because of who I am... and he also feels it would be wasting our time together... his attitude is... He would much rather have me on his lap then off in the kitchen cooking, and cleaning.
