Dulles -> DIY Bondage Gear (10/5/2007 9:15:00 PM)

Hello all! I recently have gotten into crafting some of my own bondage gear and I have a few questions. First of all, I was wondering if many people actually take on this endevour at all. Second, for those of you who do, I would love to hear some people's ideas of what they have made or even what they would like to see made. And last, anyone know of any really good DIY sites that include plans or conceptual drawings?I am not doing this as any buisness of the sort , just mostly for my personal collection. I have started to learn leather working and I have already got the carpentry thing down. (luckily my wife is an excellent carpenter and a good teacher) I have made a few things so far but none of leather. I have made my own spreader bar set, over the door suspension and a versatile version of a hog tie, sort of hobbly thing made for use with a spreader bar. One of the spreader bars is also intended for the doggystyle position. Also, a squirting dildo for strap on use that you can fill with just about any liquid. I know they have those on the market but the ones I have seen suck and are very ineffective. Anyways, I hope to hear some opinions and ideas from other craftsmen. If anyone is interested in knowing how I made some of the things I mentioned, I would be glad to share that. ( I should mention it before someone else does, I did join the group that was mentioned in a post before for the same thing. )

Hi,

We are a couple who are dabbling in some bondage senarios. We are interested in what you have made yourself, especially the over the door suspension. What have you done for that? We would luv to try it. :) We have been making basic bondage gear to date and are always interested in making more. Hope to hear from you. Leasha and col

I started with this site, and moved on to my own designs.

RRAfe,

LOL Its funny you mentioned that site because that is where I started as well. I also discovered that there is a sister site of sorts that sells all the appropriate components just for bondage leather working.

Now as for the over the door suspension, it was rather simple really. It took all of maybe a half hour to make not including drying time for the stain. I took a 1 inch wooden dowel and cut it into 2 6 inch pieces and stained it a dark walnut. I rounded off the edges witha  power hand sander. I cut  2 peices of 1 1/4 inch Nylon strapping into16 1/2 inch pieces.  I then wrapped one end of the nylon around the middle of the dowel so I had 1 1/2 inches over lapping so that I could sew it down. Then i did the same with the other end for a 1 1/2 inch welded steel ring I used super glue to help secure the strap to the dowel. I have the length so that it can restrain a 5'7" woman perfectly with her hand well above her head. The total hanging length is 9 inches.  Can also be used with a spreader bar. This is measured to fit a standard door way. I am 135lbs and it supports my full weight just fine. If you would like a scan of the plans, let me know. Everything can be easily found at a hardware store. Cost me about 6 bucks to make.

Hi. Can't quite grasp what you mean, would appreciate seeing the plans and maybe a photo of the finished product.

Hi ! I have some hand-drawn 3 dimensional layouts for several pieces, in color, including an adjustable wooden pony tower, a standard bondage bench, a restraint or "houdini" box, a stock rack, an upright rack, and an adjustable "torture" tower. These are all my own layouts, drawn to scale with themselves, but I don't have dimensional measurements on them because the 3-d layout makes it easy to see how they are assembled. If you want the scans, drop me a line on my collarme page and I'll be happy to send them to you.

I go through and make my own things.  Sometimes its best to get one that has already been made so you can get an idea.  Collars, toys, and even a chastity belt.  You just have to be patient with what your working with.

I prefer the personal touch , so the more things I have made the better I feel about using them.

a new group, all the ones that used to be out there seem to have faded away.

I made a couple basic but pretty nice toys from something called the Better Built Bondage Book.  It has everything from furniture plans to improvised nipple clamps and everything in between.
