Why would you seek out a D/M that would only train you?

Wouldn't you prefer someone who would take you for their own?

What is the pro/con of belonging just for training purposes?

Have you ever started in your relationship for training and ended up belonging to the D/M?

training is for those who are weak learning to be strong - Daddy and i share this opinion
i had other Doms offering to train me - for what besides trying to turn me into something i have no desire of being.

nope - started my relationship with my Doms as friends before moving into a Daddydaughter relationship with Daddy and D/s with my SO (who is also my fiance).

I have to say, I don't see the point of this. If a Domme doesn't want me for what I am, that's already an issue. If she wants to iron out some habits she finds annoying, that's fair enough but if there are significant things she'd want to change, then the relationship just isn't going to work. If she doesn't like *me*, why does she want me to be her sub?

Add to that the question of why I would want to become one Domme's idea of `the perfect sub' without actually becoming her sub. The next Domme almost certainly has a different idea about what a sub should be -- the training has trained for something that's no longer relevant.

The cons of being trained by someone else, is that any future, might not like the training you got, and will have to untrain you. I personally am not willing to go through all the effort, just to have to have something be undone, and unlearned.

I think a lot of newbies imagine it's a good way to get some casual breaking in. But they tend to forget that they are likely to develop a connection with anyone doing something that intense with them.

The reality seldom matches what you imagine.

Its a very personal thing and everybody is different and so you'll get different replies.
I'm a pain slut and masochist and find myself attracted to my polar opposites.....just for training purposes.
Been told I can take a lot and ought to accept my limits as they stand and just push them gently but anyone who knows me, will know I cant just let it be.
Pain can become a need like an addict craving a fix.

I was trained by someone I had no intention of gaining a real collar from. We set up a time frame, and structure and it was followed. It was mostly studying, and mindset training. And once I left it I was very thankful for it. My next owner changed alot, but hey he can do that lol.

I think for my first experience into the lifestyle going into that training was very smart for me.

I am young and I know without his set structure I would have just flung myself in and drown.

We got along very well in the beginning and i wanted someone to show me the ropes and i decided to stay with him. Yes i'd rather have someone train me to be their own, but the Dom i have now is wonderful. He's a great person to be around. The pro for me is that i have someone who is willing to take the time to teach me new and exciting things. The con is that i know he isn't my life partner, and he knows it as well. And that i am searching for the right dom for me. The last statement i can not answer.

It depends on what is being trained.

If you want to learn how your owner will want his or her coffee then you have to wait to find them and be owned. Personal preferences are done by the owner..

Too many folks, think training all about sex & play.. train the sub how to take a beating, or how to give a blowjob. Nice reading material and good fantasy but not a lot of substance to it..

But..
If you want to increase your resume of skills and lifestyle knowledge while you wait and are looking for an owner, then many people can help you learn and it often is referred as training. It might be as a way to try things out, or experience different levels. Or maybe it is attending a formal training program to find out more about yourself and what you are looking for. Most good progams are mostly intellectual and self reflective with just a little fun thrown in.

At our house we do different skill trainings such as formal dinners. Just to help someone learn and hone their skills in offering a nice setting and service, above the normal daily dinners. There is no thoughts about making someone into someone they are not. Just work on improving skills and knowledge.

We live in a society where people attend universities to become trained and knowledgeable about subjects before they seek out an employer,, the employer will do the final personal training but the more knowledge and skills you have to offer an employer usually the better.. Some people will do the same in seeking a Master.. the more skills they have as a base to offer the better..

Training, skills, knowledge and experience is good, and a fine thing to offer a potential Master.. But don't forget the things that training cannot teach you.. A willing heart, a good attitude, acceptance, loyalty, devotion and love.

The word training is tossed around rather frequently. I interpret training as learning a set of skills, or just generally gaining experience with certain things. For example, working with friends and learning more about, say, flogging techniques. That's educational, that's training. :)

Others may consider training as teaching someone about how to anticipate someone's wants or desires, or how to take orders gracefully. Every top is different as to the protocols they want, so that training may or may not be relevant to future relationships. Some might scene, or play, and consider a new experience (or furthering existing experience) to be training.

Why would someone seek training? That depends on the person and what they interpret as training. I personally stray for using the word since it has kind of broad implications depending on who you're talking to. If I want to learn a skill, I say I just want to learn a skill and that's what I'm doing.
