Actually, it's more like assuming guilt once the cover-up started, the cover-up being prima-facie evidence of wrongdoing.

The sad, sad part of this Haditha story, is the deliberate efforts taken to impede the open investigation of the events in question. Of course, if they didn't do anything wrong, why bother covering it up?

Because so many have been using the word fair and hypocricy, I tried to do a search on the off topic section about Sen Murtha being wrong about saying some Marines killed civilians in cold blood. I couldn't find it. Anyone know what the name of the thread is? Owner 59?

I see alot about a talk show host calling some of our soldiers "phonies" but I thought it would be bigger news that a Senator had lied about some Marines killing Iraqi civilians in cold blood.

Well, let's examine first if the scene was properly secured and investigated for the alleged crime, and take it from there.

Oh, the crime scene WAS NOT properly secured? How about the witnesses? Do we have a list of everyone in the town on the night of the alleged crime? They were interviewed immediately after? Where are their statements?

Oh, a proper investigation wasn't conducted? Seems to me that you're going to have a problem convicting the alleged criminals because of a bunch of technicalities.

I hate these "Soft on Crime" types...
