In recent days I have noticed a number of posts where someone referenced their love of Harleys. So my question is....just how many of us biker types are out here? I have always said the biker lifestyle in many respects is very close to WIITWD. So ring in and tell us if you are out there. Maybe we could organize a run and all meet up.

Youtalkingtome -> RE: Bikers (7/27/2005 9:29:13 AM)

I own and ride a Harley.A very fast sportster.But I am not a hardcore biker.A hardcore biker puts his or her Harley and riding first.I ride when I have time.
Meaning I don't live to ride ride to live.I would have more time to ride if I had a live in sub or slave,so that she could take care of the house and a few other things.That would free up some of my time.
I love to ride but don't have much free time.Being a home owner and all the responsibilities that go with it and haveing a full time job and being single leaves me with very little time.I suppose if I were rich I could hire people to do everything.Then I would have time.And if I were a hardcore biker I would ride and say to hell with everything.But then I wouldn't have anything.
Up here in the northeast we have a very short summer to get everything done outside before it gets cold.
The way I explain my picture on my profile is that I am not a hardcore biker.That is just a small part of what I am.
It is all about priorities.
Being in the northeast I would assume this proposed meeting wouldn't be anywhere near the northeast.So I doubt I could make it.
But I like the idea and hope people will get together.

There's a lot of bdsm crossover in the biker crowd, my best kinky friend in NJ was a huge biker.

As well, there's a lot of bdsm crossover in the fantasy/science fiction crowds as well, and the renaissance/SCA crowd, and the poly crowd, and the swingers crowd, and other places.

I'd say a hardcore biker has a bike without an engine and pedals it! [;)]

*raises hand*

I refer to it as my first leather lifestyle & yes I agree... many similarities.

I will almost always come second, and I accepted that a long time ago. Any day that it isn't raining or snowing and is warm enough to not freeze to death he is out riding as long as possible.

This is my partner's first love:

Guess what guess what!?!?! Today I get my motorcycle licence!!!!!! I've been taking a 3-day class thing and it's been SO much fun! My Master also rides a motorcycle (though he prefers his mountainbike for most trips around town) and now I get to join him!!! I was so scared that I wouldn't be able to control the bike during the class, but aside from the sweltering 90 degree heat out on the course (not to mention while wearing leathers) everything was wonderful! We learn to swerve today, then take the test. I should be able to pass easily, I took to riding well. My brother is getting a Vespa so that and my Master's (I think it's a suzuki) are what I'll be riding till I buy my own bike. [:D]

Rayne58 -> RE: Bikers (7/28/2005 5:15:23 AM)

Master used to ride bikes, He had a Kawasaki 1000 until He got too ill to ride and had to sell it [&o] But last year He bought a little Honda 250 (against doctor's orders mind you!). He hasn't been able to ride it much but just having it and being able to ride if He wants to has made Him a happy man [:)]

I hate harleys. Noisy annoying motor bikes. Give me a nice Suzuki hayabusa Vroom Vroom

siamsa24 -> RE: Bikers (7/28/2005 7:21:43 AM)

I am looking at a Ducati Monster or the little Suzuki (I don't remember the name of it, but it's one of their smaller sport bikes, only about 450 ponds).
I have ridden dirt bikes since I was old enough to sit up on my own so motorcycles should be a breeze

Harleys are not loud or noisy.If the owner wants it to be loud they put on drag pipes aka straight pipes.This can be done and it is done on all types of motorcycles.Most of the cafe race type aka crotch rockets have loud exhaust pipes.And at is common for the Jap. bike builders to put exhaust on that makes them sound like a Harley.They all make models that look like a Harley.I often see wannabe used on here refering to bdsm.Well the Jap bikes are Harley wannabes.
The engine in my Sportster is the same as in the Buell cafe race type bike aka crotch rocket.

imtempting, I looked at your profile and it is commome for people your age to prefer the Jap bikes.
Here in the states the cafe race type bikes are the ones in most of the accidents and death related injuries.Not the bikes fault.It is all in the attitude of the rider.Harley riders are more laid back and most of the time are not into speed.We just want to enjoy the ride.Just because you have power doesn't mean you use and abuse it.

perfection20005 -> RE: Bikers (7/28/2005 10:13:02 AM)

I agree with Youtalkingtome, most of the bikes now adays are made to look like, sound like or otherwise imitate a Harley. They don't have to be loud, thats a personal choice.

MstrssPassion -> RE: Bikers (7/28/2005 2:43:17 PM)

Loud isn't such a bad thing... in fact the louder the better!

Most of the time when it is automobile vs. motorcycle, the driver of the automobile typically claims "I didn't see the motorcycle".

nonuts4thshoney -> RE: Bikers (7/28/2005 5:30:41 PM)

Master likes to ride but doesn't get out as often as She'd like too. We went on a charity ride a few monthes ago and it was great. There were about 400 bikes and we rode for about 100 miles (one way). my booty hurt after the round trip..lol!!

UtopianRanger -> RE: Bikers (7/28/2005 10:19:01 PM)

I've got an 89' FXST Softail. I start it up every so often, but it mostly sits in my shop and collects dust. I view it as a masterpiece of American art from a bygone era - Much like many of the old muscle cars from the 60's and 70's.

HERE!

My Domina owns a Harley and we ride often.
I do too find many similiarities and commanalities
between the lifestyles.
