the days drag on
each moment an eternity
when i don't think i can go on
He once again writes me
a simple few words revives
this slave to wait yet one more day
my serving soul then drives
me yet once more on my way
every second I'm not there
burns in me a need to be
at His feet i'll kneel and bare
all my soul for Him to see
his punishing hand i'll welcome
for 'tis what i need and fear
as long as i am a slave in His home
i'll not let pride hide a tear
I dream of nights of torture
i wish for days of pain
may the whip make me pure
and the sting be like the flame
