Tons of rennies are into the lifestyle... I think Rennies and Scadians ( those in the SCA see www.sca.org ) tend to be a more open minded type folk. Some groups or households in the SCA or renfaire troupe tend to be more lifestyle or leather bent. I have publicly flogged bad lil rennie boys after hours at faires... I merchanted for years.. and now I just volunter. I know most in the Fla community for both the ren circles and the SCA. Mind you most have no clue in the SCA that I am a Domme. ( I had that rep about a decade ago... but I have been cleaning up my rep and becoming a respectful Lady here of late since I had a child ) I have also scened with some at SCA events. Ren faires after hours tend to be more of a great big party and can be a fun sex filled romp if you are hanging out with all your close buddies.
The SCA has stiffened up a lot over the years. But both are fun.
