Disappearing profiles???? AHHH it is so frustrating; people contact you offering this and that; they seem sincere and then WHAM their profiles disappear? I mean it is easy to spot the losers; wankers and such but it is frustrating when you start a somewhat intellectual back and forth discussion with someone then they go poof.....

While I understand that with this lifestyle or really any type there are a lot of pretenders and I have gotten used to dealing with the real false pleas of submission yet it is still annoying to say the least.

Only thing I know is to get alternate methods of contact if you are at point of knowing sincerity and "non-whackedness"(not a real word, but you know what I mean). Otherwise, maybe they just kept the facade up a bit longer before you found out.

As of this last week, I officially become one of those those people that up and killed their profile(s).   First I deleted my primary one (whiplashsmile) that most people are used to seeing me use. Then the seldom used (owner4sexslave), only reason why I had this second account was that I created it to catch somebody playing games with me. Only access I have now is to the message boards using this account.

I did this to put an end to all the time I was spending exchanging private email messages.  I actually stopped using the message boards about a month ago, as well. Multiple reasons for why I up and killed my account really. I was spending way too much time on here.

I actually like and enjoyed exchanging emails with most of the people on here. The problem is this, it simply was taking up too much of my time.   In the course of a year I became a rather hardcore user of this site, dare I admit it. A Collarme.com Addict or Junkie.

I may or may not be back. I'm going to devote some time exploring things further with a couple of people I met from here. I have to get serious with somebody sooner or later, you know.   There comes a time to stop looking and start doing, you know.

I've redirected a lot of my free time towards song writting again, instead of hanging out on the message boards and doing a lot of private email discourse on here. Yes, Gasp.. I do have a life outside of the computer and BDSM.

Yes, I'm guilty as Hell of being one of those people that WHAM deletes their profile/account.   While I've never exchanged emails with you MistressPurple, I thought I share this with you. Also to sort of explain myself to those I went POOF on since, I did not share my Yahoo IM account with everybody.

Yeah, it's pretty weird. I've gotten emails and before I could even open them the profile was gone. Also had a guy disappear on me altogether. We were actually talking about scheduling a time to meet and poof! Profile gone and him with it.

We deleted ours too because we had a few stalkers and too much time was wasted on trying to weed out the fakes. So we will just be on the boards for a bit. Figured it would give us better chances of meeting more serious people.

Welcome to the wonderfull world of trolls, wannabes, fakes and predators; a few decent people thrown in just to make it interesting. I don't put much weight in profiles unless I know the person well, off-site and off-line. The Brad Pasley song "Online" fits perfectly, people are who they make themselves out to be online; live and learn.

I dunno know about disappearing profiles... but I know mine went poof as well. Name stayed....but my profile was deleted. I thought it was CM randomly doing it... then figured just a mistake. And thought it happened to others as well when I seen this thread... till I read it. DUH....

In the past though ...(getting back to the OP)... i've had the same thing happen to me as well. I just shrugged them off and said I silent thank you. Keeps me from wasting any more time.

I just recently had one dissapear on me.. months of talking, planning, and when I finally schedule a time to meet.. he's nowhere to be found. he deleted his account on here also.. didnt think I was that scary

That's why I try to meet within 2 weeks if there is a good connection. And, they can poof after you meet also. They get scared by their own feelings, and reality.
I like to get it out of fantasy and into reality asap.
They come back though.... the good ones.....

There are a great many bleeding poofters on this site, and they will never advance to where the rubber meets the road.

One thing I try to do is talk to people who's profile has been up at least three months or more. If they participate in the forums, and/or have lots of different pics taken at different times, that helps too, as does someone who writes in their journal once in a while.
Sometimes people do get scared, though, and disappear.

It happens on other sites as well.

I am looking for a place to sleep for one night on a hospitality site. Wrote the past week five or six of thirteen people. The first four or five have yet to reply. The girl that I wrote this evening was the first to reply, almost immediately, said that she had other guests. When I tried to write back to thank her for replying to my request I found that her profile did not exist any more. So I guess she got scared or changed her mind and that the other guests excuse was a white lie. Well, perhaps the next one will offer me a couch... If not, I may have to do without sleep for fifty hours.

It seems that "this boy" has no problem digging up a thread over 5 months old. Most of the Dommes on this thread died in the Great CM Christmas Massacre of '07 and the black ones that managed to survive all succumbed to sickle cell right after the new year.

You might be able to find a pissed off subby...It's your best bet. There are tons of them still running around out here.
