The reason Britain nationalized its empire was because of the excesses and corruption of its private companies. The US should do the same and be honest about itself, it is an imperial power and as such it has responsibilities to the people it occupies.

Well if the US is an imperial power, that would make Bush the emperor would it not?

Maybe wait til after an election before doing that or do you really want the US to become an imperial concern to the rest of the world? (IF it has not already)

No one wants the US to be an imperial power but that is exactly what it is. If it isn't going to give up its imperial interests then it should do the next decent thing, have a duty of care to the people it occupies. The USA is about the only country in the world that doesn't rocognize the USA as an Empire.

thats funny; i am sorta waiting for bush to announce he isnt stepping down. sign a drecree saying he must stay on due to nationaly security. and be prez forevever. other rules changed --so this one could be too- you know actrivist presidents how they are
