i think what you see after being in the lifestyle for a couple of years, is that things are often not what they seem....and that things that are frightening and repulsive take on a new light as you meet normal happy people doing those repulsive frightening things.

They still harbor dreams of being a big-league homerun star? Seriously, I have yet to meet all that many fellow dominants who had more than two submissives/slaves, let alone countless submissives/slaves...unless you are referring to those who move on from one to the next to the next. As for people that do that...shrugs...to each their own. Perhaps they do not care to indulge in anything beyond a sexual/BDSM level or perhaps they prefer to experience the thrill of many short-term relationships rather than an ongoing relationship.

Each victim soul has its own particular flavor, and the suffering of many can be sweet to imbibe. But there is a considerable difference between simple beat meat and a slave. In my mind, a slave is prey to more than sadistic whims; he lives for the advancement and gain of his Mistress. Your notion of extracting positive benefit from a slave is where the true reward lies.

Lets back up for a minute, multiple slaves, finding one can be a bear, multiples, lets consider the time, effort and cost of finding one compatible person, now multiply it??? It seems there are far more willing male subs/slaves then female, maybe that’s sideways logic, but most Doms that seem to chat here are Females talking about male subs/or slaves, as for me I would love to have 2 slaves (female) to play with, but I can’t find one, getting ready to venture off CM again to look under rocksJ I only know of one Dom Couple personally that has several female slaves. But I have known them for a long time and they are both fair, and respectful, and they care for there slaves, how many here truly have more then one,??? That is a good question indeed.

Many Doms and Dommes can come off that way (as can many subs). But get to know the person first before deciding that they truly lack empathy. Most I have met in the life are people who care deeply about others.

As to the desire for multiple slaves. Some Doms desire different things and cannot get what they desire from just one servant. ie: one slave is service-oriented another is a masochist another only wants to be a puppy...so many reasons. Ponder the possibilities.

I admit that sometimes I have had fantasies of owning a stable of slaves. but then the reality of it always ruins it. I have met only 1 lady who had a stable of slaves. she had about 4 or 5 in differing parts of the US. She had said most of their sessions was online, (she couldn't travel because of school.) I asked her, between school,internet,studying,sleep,etc how much free time did she have? she said Oh I usually took a break from everything for a few hours on saturdays. Last time I had heard she ended up having a break down from trying to do so much.

There are some slaves who see being owned as nothing but an object to be beaten as a good existance.
They are out there.
I have more than one, at any given time (it varies greatly, Angel is my only stable partner) and there are many different facets to what each of mine is kept for.
The answer to any question that asks "do others" is going to be yes. Somewhere, there is somewone who does.

not necessarily. how often do we see a thread started "OMG i thought i was his one and only, and he had another sub/slave! eleventy-one!!!11!!!!"

or someone who knows their dominant has more than just them, but not HOW many more? *raises hand* that caused a major bump a while back in my relationship with Sir. we got through it....but i was in bad shape for a few days there.

lets not forget that some people have absolute monogamy mindset and cant wrap their mind around poly relationships at all....or people that think a play session here and there is a relationship and is crushed to find that the dominant has a few casual play partners...?

I keep only as many as need to run our various committments,NO hobbies ...who has time for hobbies,Lazy,,,I work harder then my slaves,,,,,Oh you call in additionsto basic needs ie food shelter clothing add in an education if one is needed or desired,,Some are putting the horse before the cart in linmping all slave owners into one bunch...I object...bounty

Exactly. While there are many dominants who do make a habit of collecting submissives/slaves without making each aware of it...I am sure there are many, such as DV, who make their submissives quite aware of their place...and others' place...in the dominant's world.

Because some slaves wish to be in that situation for whatever reason. Just don't feel left out when I tell you to go clean the bathroom while I play with the alpha slave. It tends not to be so hot then.

Well that's a case of a slaves lack of judgement- not a bad master or relationship.

And how exactly does that make the dom a bad person because the sub feels crushed or unable to break out of a monogamous mindset? In that case, again the problem is the slave having bad judgements and perceptions, not the dom being a bad person or wanting a bad situation.

Thanks for pointing out that the "use them on move on" model of conducting relationships is out there. I don't often encounter someone who lives that way... but it's been years since I was in politics.
