You know guys I love the holidays as much as anyone but the after holiday blues bothers many Americans,..So the question is are you down after the holidays and if so for how long....

Bountyhunter: Most of my family lives in the midwest. Most of them are normal types from the midwest - you know, religious fanatics, wife beaters, etc. My holiday blues ended after I realized that traveling back to the midwest to see my religious basketcase brother and 'poor me' sister was the problem. When I realized what the problem was, I stopped going back to visit. Don't see my family = don't get depressed. So, when they finally decide to come east to visit (not likely), then I'll have to decide if I let them stay over the holidays. Meanwhile - problem solved. I am happy throughout the holidays, and a Christmas card keeps the weird relatives at bay.

Enough bourbon and valium can make even the most intolerable of relatives seem like a whole lot of fun (and if you act enough of an ass, they won't be back so problem solved).
