Just a medical observation. Painful intercourse, red irritated mucosa (vaginal tissue), can indicate bacterial vaginosis and or a yeast infection. It's not unheard of for a man to carry the pathogins and or antagonists while being asymptomatic. The receptive partner can recover, and the male can reinfect that partner cyclically. This is known as the ping pong affect. There is a home test kit for the presence of candida yeast, however the treatments I suggest work for either "bv" or yeast. The wrong treatment can cause a chronic flare up, that would send most anyone screaming to the doctor/clinician for treatment! Please note that we all have candida and bacteria, in a natural balance this isn't a problem. The overgrowth of either causes the complaint, but isn't an indicator of cleanliness. However recurrent symptoms could indicate other critical health problems like diabetes, anemia, and systemic thrush. Please listen and seek treatment, it saves lives.
