what can delay the growth of new hair? i swear i can feel new stubble pop on my legs if i sneeze right after shaving. i waxed once and only once, the ingrown bumps were evil... just wondering- phoenix

Hmmm. Getting waxed properly should ensure that your hair grows out smoothly, with no ingrowns or bumps. If you do get ingrowns, don't try to pick at it - just scrub it with a rough loofa in the shower everyday.

Love,
GM

I'm ok, with no razor bumps on the legs, though the regrowth is pretty fast. Professional wax or shave my bits though, and I'm like something from a horror film. I guess some of us are just meant to have some hair where we don't want it.

There are some "hair growth retardant" lotions and potions on the market, but I don't know if they work. Maybe someone who's used them can tell you.

Have you looked into Lasser Hair Removal?

Yes yes yes I hear it can be expensive but most places do offer payment plan arrangements. It's worth to atleat look into it and find what your expenses will really be.

Ok, just asked my 22 yr old daughter this question. She said you may have sensitive skin, that the wax could have gotten into your pores. She said the hair growth retardents do work. But you will have to watch what kind you use, if you do have sensitive skin. They are sold at most department stores. Nair works good too she said. They have a new one out for younger people that is made for more sensitive skin. Hope this helps you out some.

I have the same problem.. back when they first came out several years ago I tried the lotions with the added hair growth inhibitors (I think it was jergens.)  It did make a difference after I used it for about a month.  Allowed me to cut down from shaving every day to every other day.

If they still have those around, its worth a shot.
