I don't see their gender being the criteria by which I either submit, or act in a more dominant manner with my partners. It really depends on what their identification is, how that relates to mine...

It's almost like people have invisible "dominance levels" stamped on their foreheads. I'm about a 3, when it comes to being Dom. I generally submit to those who I sense are above that... when I meet a 2 or lower, I usually end up calling the square dance. LOL When I meet someone who is also a 3? Hasn't really happened yet, but maybe we'll flip a coin, or just check in with each other to see what our moods are at the time.

Okay, bipolarber...I'm just picturing a grand game of switch Stratego.   I think that makes you a Sergeant, making you 'knock over' Miners and Scouts with ease.  Watch out for bombs [:D]

So far it's about an even split in terms of what I've been inclined to do... My most recent girlfriend subbed for me, but my boyfriend and I are about evenly matched for dominance.

Actually, "Stratego" is a pretty good anology for how I feel my dominance and submissive relations go. (Although it's been ages since I've played the game.) The only problem is, when meeting someone, it often takes a while to discern what their ranking is, and if they are even interested in me, should the meeting be going opposite to what they are in the mood for. Ah! Amour! Soooo complicated!
