Scientists explain chocolate cravings

WASHINGTON - If that craving for chocolate sometimes feels like it is coming from deep in your gut, that's because maybe it is. A small study links the type of bacteria living in people's digestive system to a desire for chocolate. Everyone has a vast community of microbes in their guts. But people who crave daily chocolate show signs of having different colonies of bacteria than people who are immune to chocolate's allure.

I can't believe there is no one else on these forums that has anything to say about chocolate addiction. Owner, guess you and I are the only two who have that particular condition

It's good for the heart, it helps to lower blood pressure, its gives you a seratonin boost among other things AND it tastes good. Works for me. Not like I needed any more encouragement to eat some every day. {goes and gets a fudge pop from the freezer}

I can get pretty violently ill if I don't have a rather large intake of milk. I typically drink the better part of a gallon per day. So, perhaps it's similar?

Chocolate (especially dark) can trigger an endorphin release similar to a good flogging or a "runner's high."

My favorite part was
