Hallowe'en now is a yearly vodka drinkin night with my old buddy.  A custom of ours since abouts 1995.  A night reserved for just us and just vodka. I can't handle much, I usually fall down after 3.

Sex optional (depending on the vodka consumtion).

So, if I drink slowly, I will get a treat and no tricks.

I'm not really big on Halloween.  I was never one for dressing up, but I like seeing what the trick-or-treaters are wearing.   It gives me an excuse to have candy in the house, and I like that.

We love Halloween. We're too far out in the boonies to get any trick-or-treaters, but we decorate.
Of course, a lot of what some people would consider to be Halloween decorations stay out year-round (i'm sure as hell not moving a 5-foot concrete gargoyle into the attic!), but still...

sub4hire -> RE: whats your view on halloween? (10/13/2007 7:25:31 AM)

People told us last year we were too far into the boonies to get trick or treaters as well.  15 was the count.  Last year we got well over a hundred.
For a small town...and a whole 1/3rd of the town.  I do think you can attract people to your house boonies or not if you try.

My view on Halloween is: why don’t they sell candy flavoured rat poison anymore?

scifi1133 -> RE: whats your view on halloween? (10/13/2007 7:33:50 AM)

ha im lazy myself i just leave candy in a bowl on the front porch

KatyLied -> RE: whats your view on halloween? (10/13/2007 8:21:04 AM)

I like it.  Unless it interferes with a Steeler's game, then I'm pretty much hating and have considered pretending not to be home.  It's usually on Sunday afternoon here.

oh- locally if one wishes to hand out treats- we are to turn on the porchlight.

if you dont want any- no porch light.  it works.

Love it, except for the constant knocks on the door.  I'm looking forward to getting dressed up in garb this year just as much as I did in previous years.  It's one of my fav holidays.  Its the one day, I have an excuse to go out in public dressed as freaky as I want to without anyone thinking my thigh high boots warrant a ticket from the police for possible solicitation.  [:D]

It's one of my favorite holidays.  i love taking the kids out and am the one who volunteers to take the neighborhood kids out - parents are so lazy now adays.  i have a big caravan and i drive them there then follow in my van.  i have collected some really nice decorations over the years - art pieces really and some antiques.  i put up the cheapy kind too for the kids.  Our neighbors across the street have a big front porch and they set up a haunted  hallway which then they extend "the tour" to go around to the back. Their son pops up out of a coffin and another fellow sits in a chair - no one realizes hes real and when you go by he jumps up - i love to hear the kids scream [sm=evil.gif]

i am disappointed though - most houses and business establishments around here have not decorated this year - what party poopers [:'(]

We also go on a haunted hayride in SleepyHollow and get to see the headless horseman and other assorted ghouls.  And they have several hounted houses up in Sterling Forest that are really fun for the kids.

Sit outside in lawn chairs w/ a Jack-o-Lantern lit and assorted other Halloween type lights w/ pets dressed up handing out teats.

Level -> RE: whats your view on halloween? (10/13/2007 11:04:53 AM)

I love Halloween. A bit miffed at buying a shit-load of candy this morning, and finding the same thing for $2 a bag cheaper later in the day, though.......

mistyeyze -> RE: whats your view on halloween? (10/13/2007 11:32:48 AM)

i don't get dressed up anymore, but Spike, the Amazing Wonder Dog has his jack o'lantern costume on already...he gets a bit anxious for treats  [:D]

lonlyrossInNeed -> RE: whats your view on halloween? (10/13/2007 11:50:34 AM)
