I think a topic like this was made before a long while back but i cant rememebr the answer to my questions so...

will skintight black underarmor work? I mean I'm not a big fan of leather and PVC and whatever being on ME, so I was wondering if the underarmor would be a fine enough substitute. As for pants....huh....just dark pants huh?...cargos or slacks?

michelleryder -> RE: Club wear? (10/15/2007 9:04:17 AM)

I think it's far easier for women than men to wear kink clothing we have endless choices.

If you are on a budget, definately hit the second-hand clothing stores.  You'd be amazed at what you can find - I've seen leather suspension cuffs, PVC thigh-high boots among other very kinky items all at amazing prices (usually the staff has no idea what the items are really worth).  Also, mix and match is a great approach - a few pants and a few shirts and you have plenty of different combinations.  You can get vinyl pants that aren't shiny (often called leatherette or PU vinyl or balloon cloth) if shiny isn't your look.  Pair them with even a simple t-shirt and a pair of boots and you have a very fetish look.  Likewise with fetish tops and simple black jeans or pants.  Over time you can build up quite a wardrobe.  Also, accessories can make the outfit and many are pretty cheap.

On a side note - I wouldn't consider PVC breathable.  Granted it isn't air-tight like latex or rubber is, but it is hardly a breathable fabric (it is just vinyl/plastic sprayed over spandex or lycra).  Sadly, when it comes to fetish wear, very little is comfortable.  But it is a good measurement - the more uncomfortable you are, the better you look.

ebay, items 280162602810 and 140167872903 (or even 110180744743)

who says you can't do kink on a budget?

Thanks. That seems fairly easy and affordable. :)

The practical reason being, that you simply do not get as many undesirables if you enforce a dress code, and that the people who show up are often more genuine about expressing their kink than those who'd not go through the trouble of dressing a bit differently.

I actually hadn't considered that before, but it makes a lot of sense, I guess.

And yeah, I think I'd probably feel slightly more at ease wearing regular street clothes, but I do understand the desire to be in a fetish-y environment, and it's nice to be able to make a bit of an effort for special occasions like that. :)

I'd not heard of under armour before, but I just went and looked it up and it actually looks quite good. Nice and simple. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the hints. :)

sodsta -> RE: Club wear? (10/15/2007 4:02:27 PM)

haha, that would be pretty awesome, but probably slightly unlikely, though. Oh well...

LadySeraphina -> RE: Club wear? (10/15/2007 4:09:07 PM)

If you're interested in adding a simple collar and cuffs (which will dress up any black pants-and-t-shirt outfit), get in touch with me, since I do mine for nearly cost. Take a look at the slinky t-shirts on www.priape.com - that's what I have most of my boys wear to clubs, paired with a Utilikilt, or black pants (leather pants or cotton trousers).

ba5tardo -> RE: Club wear? (10/15/2007 4:24:51 PM)

There have been a couple of other posts about this. I think it depends on what your are going for and a lot of other factors.

For doms that don't care for or don't have fetish atire I recomend a dark suit that fits well. I generaly do this or a dark button up shirt.

A girl I knew made extensive use of a single startigicly hemmed school girl skirt and electrical tape. It was very low cost and very effectice.

For male submissives thats a good question which I havn't thought about too much. You could do something like a pair of millitary style boots, good fitting black jeans or simialr work pants and maybe a collar and wrist cuffs (to underscore your preference). Some of this stuff you might already own. Depending on what kind of shape you are in, you might forgo a shirt.

there is the opposite side of this thread going on over on the bondage and apparel board right now here... http://www.collarchat.com/m_1334494/tm.htm
and if you look at that, and use your imagination a little...its not all top dogs there...theres gotta be underlings and minions in every stuation...you can figure out something....
as for the budget...get little bits at a time...accessories first....you can fetish-ize almost anything with the right acessories...like me...a set of halloween cat ears and an inexpensive jeweled collar with a kitty bell from petsmart hanging from it....and anything i am wearing is now a fetish outfit....all for under $20....as time goes by and you figure out what look you like and where you want to go and what those expensive pieces are, you can save up and put some aside and get it...but it helps to have a goal in site rather than just saving money for this siteless thing you may get in the future...

good luck...

Ah, to dream! I could use some helpe with those student loans too...

I'm in the same boat as you sodsta.

Best advice: be creative. Look through thrift shops, Goodwill, those punk/goth shops that might be around your city. Don't feel limited by "classic" kinky wear. Borrow a page from cosplayers, if you know anything about the nerd scene.

I found instructions years ago (I wish I had kept them) on how to make a makeshift corset with electrical tape and some other stuff you could get at a hardwear store. Layer strips in a staggered fashion, so that the non-sticky side is covered on both sides, poke some eyelets, get some lacing...Easy-peasy.

chellekitty -> RE: Club wear? (10/15/2007 6:07:17 PM)

oh yes...colored duct tape!! but unless you're a really big masochist....wear an old tshirt under it and cut slashes through it or cut away the showing tshirt material....ooo this sounds like fun....do i wear my new top that i bought for the party or do i go buy a few rolls of colored duct tape....choices choices....

searching4moreak -> RE: Club wear? (10/15/2007 6:24:55 PM)

Duck tape is so common here a couple years back I used it to make a gown just took a long t-shirt had a freind wrap me into it  and then attached little glittery beaded tassles to the end and wha la formal on a budget... and it stood out .....
