I have tried to find some sort of link - but all I keep coming up with is lists of cosmetic procedures. I have no actual written documentation to hold up what I have said, so the only thing that could be done is to have a cosmetic surgeon place their definition down here, or it will take time to go ask many surgeons and run some sort of census ourselves. I know I have been explained to quite a few times (once by a surgeon, once by a reconstruction surgeon/mortician) what is considered cosmetic surgery, as well as watching documentries on such. If you google for lists, it will show some surgeries do consider such things part of their cosmetic surgery lists - simple things like chemical peals and nail extensions - dermabrasion and all part of the cosmetic service they provide. Some do, some don't. Personally I follow the definition of cosmetic surgery, which is that it is something that is done to improve the appearence of the body with or without anaesthesia. It is also elective. If you google for plastic surgeons who do these procedures. Even procedures like teeth whitening or dyeing of pigments by injection(like eye, brow, lip etc) are considered as a form of cosmetic surgery. Cosmetic surgery is also not a permenant procedure and can last from a few weeks to many years. Again, cosmetic surgery is not in the same vein as plastic surgery, which is modification that is not always elective(by definition) - and also plastic surgery has a higher rate of permenance.(Soory, I am tired and my spelling sux tonight) Hope that helps sfgrrl Peace and Love
