Allo Allo Norac, one of the smallest toys I have , and one of the most fun, its actually a neurological pin wheel for testing nerve responses, and errrm the reason you couldnt findit in wiki is because I smelt it differently.... there is a wiki here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wartenberg_wheel, so my bad...Lots of places sell them and variations of them. Used on a nicely warmed/pink  body part, it feels very nice.....ticklish and squirmy and can leave tiny  pinprick patterns.
Pizza cutters and needlework wheels and pastry wheels have the same kind of feel without the pins.
have fun:)

I keep a matched set of pink leather cuffs with a posture collar I'm thinking about tossing. I've got a backup set in black somewhere. Plus a matching penis gag, a non-matching harness ballgag, and some mint-in-packaging butt plugs.

I'm thinking about adding a black unitard and dance-style shoes, because I'm sick of freezing my butt off wearing just a set of panties. Plus it might give the hint that I'm not there just to get my butt whipped; I might actually want something totally different. Like a bondage scene.

I know there's an old saw about submissives not being supposed to buy their own gear (or at least their own collars), but I'd much rather have equipment that I at least know fits. I'm usually off the scale on the small end of mens' clothes, and its the same way with bondage gear. Unless I order my own stuff, I usually end up being too small for the mens' equipment.

I used to play with a Wartenburg wheel... but I recently bought a set of stainless steel talons. (They look like a set of rings, one for each finger, with a steel cat claw on each... each one sharpened to infinity.) Slowly drag these across someone's skin, and it gives you much the same effect as a wheel, but with a much more personal touch!

If you haven't found any yet, this is a pretty good site.

I agree chelle scissors especially when doing rope bondage,if some thing goes wrong you can remove the ropes quickly without having to deal with the knots, one  other addition to the oblivious a CD players with our favorite scene music..antibotic cream for abrasions and cuts...and my favorite toy goes where I go safely tucked behind my truck seat..A 4 foot length of white PVC pipe wrapped with tape on one end and the wooden slat from a pull down shade..

WE have a pin wheel that works in conjunction with our electrical box, feels like  you are slicing off pieces of flesh,I know because I tried it...run it across a nipple and check the response you get...

my very favorite restraints are from there, as well as a spreader bar I'm particularly fond of...[:D]

Much of my Lovers things have come from Dom depot.

I'm rather glad I started this topic -- lots and lots of great suggestions.  Thanks, everybody, and keep them coming.  Oh, and thanks for the clarification on the Wartenberg wheel.  Much appreciated. [:)]

Actually, buying your own equipment is a GREAT idea.  As you pointed out, it gives the person you're playing with an idea of what you like and you can be sure that everything fits.

My basic kit comes with 2 sets of ankle and wrist restraints, play collar, leash, riding crop, assortment of vibes and dildos, spreader bar, assortment of blindfolds, my hood, and that's about it.

To all of this I would add: double-sided velcro tape :) Can be had at electrical supply stores in rolls in many COLORS (woo hoo!) and can be soft or rough depending on the mood. Very quick and easy to use. don't forget the scissors!
