Just like it's not appropriate to talk about your sex life in public places (like work, busy restaurants, etc), we don't feel it's appropriate to talk about our D/s life in public places. If someone asks me, I tell them - I'm not going to hide it (even if my parents ask ... in fact, I finally had to tell my mom about my D/s life to get my dad off my case about a few things) ... but I'm not going to flaunt it. I don't see what the big deal is - since I rarely wear 'fetish gear' even when we're playing.
