instead of actually sewing the labia together have you considered a number of outer labia piercings? i know that they can hold the labia together in sort of a corset type deal. im not sure how its done but BME has lots of pics and such of women who have had them done on ModBlog.

HI, Just thought I would add some links...altho they dont have the sutures  or sharps anymore they still sell medical toys of all kinds is Rainbow Rope (http://www.rainbowrope.com)
and Medical toys( http://www.medicaltoys.com ) sells all kinds of medical gear, but again no sharps  or sutures, but Ive found that most medical supply stores sell them quite freely.
Its outside of my realm of experience  and liable to stay there...but to each his/her own......stay safe and sterile

RRafe -> RE: Sewing or suturing labia closed (10/16/2007 7:27:27 AM)

I let a top we both knew do this to a past sub of mine one. He got the sutures ready made at a local place called "choice medical". It's where we also used to get our sharps for needle play.

He basically took some little hooked needles with hemostats, and did four ties through her outer labia, top to bottom-and this guy is a nurse-so I trusted him to do it safely-he did the whole sterile thing. It was rather painful for her-but had an interesting look-she stayed like that for a few hours before they were removed. No long term bad effects, but the piercings back towards hew asshole took the longest to heal-she imagined it would be the other way round.[:D]

apiercedkitty -> RE: Sewing or suturing labia closed (10/16/2007 4:50:36 PM)

i've seen labia piercings done and, when fully healed, You can use extra long barbells thru each side to effectively pull them together. This prevents a lot of the long-term problems such as scar tissue that would develop when suturing repeatedly. If You really feel the need to suture, make sure You learn from someone trained medically in sterile technique - and make sure and implement it each time. But there will be scar tissue that results from this type of activity - if both parties are cool with that, carry on...

I don't have any advice, I'm just stopping by to say I think the idea is incredibly hot...I imagine getting sutured up, then going out for dinner..and then, well the possibilities are endless...delicious  [:D]

Well, you got that right.  I haven't gotten any of the information I asked for, just a lot of unasked for advice on why I shouldn't do it, or how I should do it differently.

Oh, well.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Dan

Excuse me, but you bloody well have gotten answers that you asked for - you just didn't like that they were prefaced with warnings.  I don't give a shit about whether or not you like fucking your girl, that doesn't mean that you wouldn't be leaving her with her labia sewn shut for long term - and by long term, I mean anything over a day.  I know plenty of people who like having sex with their pyl's and they put them in chastity devices for weeks ... how am I to know, without asking, whether you are contemplating doing that or not???   I'm not psychic, so I ask - get over yourself.

Agreed, when I get this sort of attitude-it makes me feel less than helpful. I'm sorry I posted anything now.

I am looking for information on how to do this, the equipment I will need and where I can order it online, and any safety issues of which I should be aware.  Is there a website somewhere that has that kind of practical information for the BDSM practitioner?

I have used needles to pierce a submissive's breasts, nipples and labia before without incident.  My partners and I have always found it to be very hot.  I don't see suturing as much different, but I want to be careful and sure that I am doing it safely.

My Master has sutured many a pussy shut.

He gets his supplies from Esutures.com. They carry discount medical stuff.

I would recommend using a straight needle suture. The straight needle is like a regular needle and is easier to handle. If you choose a curved needle suture you will need to get a driver for it. Also, I've seen that a curved needle causes a great deal more pain... it made a cast iron bottom cry and call her safe word.

As for safety precautions... treat it like a needles scene. Use gloves, have a sharps, make sure your bottom knows what will be happening. Sutures, I've heard, are way more intense then needles... make sure you have something to cut the sutures when you are ready to take them out.

Usually, if the bottom is comfortable, you can leave the sutures in for several hours.

Master did a scene once where he sutured a fake cock onto a Boi and it staid on her for a whole day, she slept with it and everything, until the constant pulling got to be to much.

I have seen women piss through sutures and get eaten out with sutures (for oral with sutures use a dental dam)

That's about all I can think of at this time.

If you have more questions please feel free to message me.

tactileartist -> RE: Sewing or suturing labia closed (10/17/2007 11:35:42 AM)

After your statement that you had extensive experience with safe piercing, and Celeste's marvelous post, I have little to add.

However, if you want to test out exactly which areas you want to have sutured, or have your sub experience the feeling of being "closed" prior to suturing, I would suggest a medical adhesive as a test run.  Pros-Aide or Ben Nye Prosthetic Adhesive should work fairly well, although you will DEFINITELY want to run a patch test on the inner arm, first, and then a patch test on the more delicate tissue, before doing more extensive work.  The adhesives can be harsh on sensitive skin, and a patch test not only on regular skin but also on on mucus membrane tissue would be mandatory. You definitely would want to avoid spirit gum on mucus membranes.

DarkDaddyZ -> RE: Sewing or suturing labia closed (10/17/2007 12:30:02 PM)

I would also recommend not to just following what you read for instruction but if you live near a city that has a thriving BDSM community to reach out for someone that has actual experience in this so you can learn in person.

Treat it like learning how to play with signal whips and have fun!

If its only for a few hours, why not act like a real man and duck tape it closed. Sewing is for girls.

LostMyself -> RE: Sewing or suturing labia closed (10/17/2007 4:40:16 PM)

I agree that it's a very appealing idea.. so far as instruction, I'm not sure, but for supplies kinkymedical.net is always good..

Kink shops always jack up the price of something you can just get without any hassele from most medical sights.

Let me preface this by saying I have not read all the responses, I have jumped straight in and tossed out my idea.

I have thought long and hard on this very subject.
My solutions is as follows.
You have mentioned that you and your partner have already experemented with labia piercings, so you are half way there.
Do 4 or 5 piercings on each side and put small rings in which the wench wears 24/7.
Make up a small bar with a ball on one end that is just too large to pass through the rings, and drill a hole through the other end of the bar that will allow you to attach a tiny pad lock, which will also be to big to pass through the rings.
Then when it is time to lock up the pussy, you just remove the tiny lock from the bar, lace it through the rings alternating then from the two sides of the labia and reinstall the lock and the pussy is colsed for buisness.

It’s no big deal and as in all things be careful and CLEAN; that's about it you don't need hours and hours of instructions (unless of course you are an S/S/C type : - ) if you are already familiar with play piercing.

Here's a few of the 100's of places to get a kit WITH instructions and you can most likely drive on over to the local REI and pick one up.

submittous -> RE: Sewing or suturing labia closed (10/18/2007 9:36:20 AM)

Well it isn't rocket science, we have been doing it for a long time. We prefer to buy medical supplies locally and have never had a problem in California or Colorado buying needles, suture material, disinfectant ... even an electric cautery pencil, make you order by phone and look reasonable when you pick it up.

We'd reccomend working with an experienced mentor first, but if that is not available we'd say to not sew with a baseball stitch but instead to cut and tie off each stitch. Use medium sized medical grade suture for your first experiences although later you can be more creative. (Hobby wire can be sterilized and has great visual effect). You can also put in a catheter and leave the labia shut for longer periods.

We like the curved needles for suturing but others prefer straights, your choice...

If you often do pussy needle play this is really no different, keep things clean use common sense and have a good time....

Whoever said it was Hawt is correct...

Frankly, its none of your fucking business what I do with her. Get over yourself. If I had wanted safety advice, I would have asked for it.

Helpful and informative. Thanks to you, and others who posted without the dire warnings and safety advice.
