I've experienced with switching because a Domme that I look up to said you should always know what it feels like. Yes I've been tied down but it was more sexual for me than anything. However I could never truly be a bottom. I have issues when people tell me what to do and how to do it, and when to do it. I know that's not always the case however, I still couldn't do it. I dated men in the vanilla world when I was a teenager who were very "Dom-like" needless to say those relationships didn't last very long.
When I was 12/13 I still played with barbie dolls however, Barbie was the queen bitch of the universe and Ken was her little sex toy. However at that time I obviously didn't understand them I would also write fantasy stories about it as well. (I have always had an excellent imagination)
Did it turn me on? Most definitely but it really isn't something I could do 24/7. Just an occasional thing in the bedroom basically. Now could I be a switch? It's quite possible only time will help me get to know myself more.

I consider myself "versatile" in that I enjoy submission and dominance, but I do not switch roles within established relationships. That is, I am only submissive with my primary dominant partner, and only dominant with my submissive partner. I am also sadistic and masochistic.

Without a doubt, Superman. I consider myself a "switch". When I first began getting involved with "kink" I believed I was strictly submissive. NOT. With a little more experience, I learned that I liked to dom. I do both now and don't really think about it. After all, to me, it's just a role. It is not embedded in my soul or my psyche. Sexuality is like that. There's always room to learn and I would never judge someone who says one day they are a domme and the next a sub. Why not?

Just a few thoughts from Lacey123

Anyone here thought they were Dom(me) and became sub or other way around?
