Thank you all for your interesting ideas. I will try them out and see which one works best. I am particulary keen on trying DivaDante's suggestion, but tie the hands to sides instead, making the whole torso available without restrictions.

Thank you once again.

ummm...this is not any established design or anything but.... put rope cuffs on your partner with lots of excess rope, put their hands in whatever postion is comfortable and then tie it off to their body so they can't get out of the postion...it may not look pretty but its effective....good tie off points are joints or any other place where the body naturally dips so that the rope does not slip from its postion...i would not recomend the previously injured shoulder if that becomes a possibility...but tie it looser if you do use it to keep blood flowing well...

another option is to use furniture and or eyebolts screwed into sturdy things...like the studs in the wall if you can....or something you build, going back to furniture...

good luck
chelle

Do NOT tie off or bind directly on a joint - an inch or two above or below the joint is much safer.

and from experience, it will slip into the joint and you have  a loose tie...so whats the point of tieing off an inch or two above or below the joint??

If that's you're problem, secure the tie with another point further up from the joint, or across to another bind point, this will prevent slippage.

We have used the open crab, and it is awesome!  Can't get out of it, and the sub/slave can be positioned in lots of different ways!  No pulling on the arms unless the tied one pulls!  :)

I'm with ya SFM.....I've never had an issue tying above or below a joint....it's all in execution.  Joints need flexability for a reason.

chellekitty -> RE: Rope bondage! (10/19/2007 7:47:47 AM)

do your subs not move when they are tied up? do your ropes not loosen? do your knots not tighten? or maybe you just don't have a whole lot of practical experience with rope bondage....even if you secure the tie with another point further up from the joint, that would slip too....they all slip into the joints or "any other place where the body naturally dips"....which was the whole sentence...if you're gonna pick apart my post....read the whole post....and if you had said attach it across to another bind point in the first place....we would not have this problem....

edited to add....ok maybe its just me...i don't do tight ties because i am diabetic and i need circulation...and maybe its because i am fat and i my parts are squishy....whatever

G'morning all:

(Fast Reply)

Having breezed through the thread and not being conversant with some of the terms used by other posters, I can't help but wonder if you've tried or have seen what I call a rope hobble. It can be used on ankles, wrists, elbows, etc. It requires a fairly long section of whatever rope you're looking to employ. My favorite is 1/2" satin braid from Rainbow Rope. Smooth, supple, leaves the nicest ligature marks. Have the submissive hold their wrists out front, 6-12 inches apart. Drape the middle of the length of rope so it sits evenly between the wrists. Then encircle the wrists with several revolutions of the rope. Starting at the wrists, secure a knot to prevent slippage, leaving wiggle enough room for comfort. Coil the rope around itself tightly, circling in towards the middle. Once there, tie off a knot securely. You now have a working hobble that allows access to tender bits, restricts movement yet provides affected areas comfort and ease of movement. (You can customize the distance and amount of turns about the wrists to your discretion.) You can always contact me on the other side and I can provide you with photographs of the finished work.

Personally, I wrap any spot I'm about to work on  in Vet Wrap. There's other names, but if you Google or Ebay search it, you should come up with quite a selection of brands and variety of colors. It adds a layer flexible padding to prevent any rub burns or pressure. You can even use it as bondage material, but that's another discussion.

I always find chiding by someone so young amusing. Spelling, grammar, and punctuation aside. The amendment was the crowning touch. Comic relief is always integral to these forums.

and i find it so redundant that the first thing you had to insult was my age...sure, go for the rest of the stuff...but the age is irrelevant...yes, i am only 24, but i've been getting tied up for the past 6 years on a consistant basis...my lack of chronological progression does not inately mean a lack of experience...thanks...

edited to add: i can type with proper spelling, grammar and punctuation...i just choose not to...i do that enough in school...and i know for a fact that i have proved it elsewhere on the boards, if it would get you off to see my proper english skills, feel free to search my past posts...but i prefer to get my ideas across rather than anal retentively worry about that...
