Status: offline 		Yes, i am venting. So utterly highly pissed off. Floridians. Good Golly i swear, i should feel sorry for them, being raised the way they were raised in a back ward state and state of mind. Being raised closeminded and full hate.... i should feel sorry for them. They didnt have my luck and were able to experience new cultures, heck ALL THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED is their own little 2 square feet of yard. Someone needs to rip them out of the backward state of mind and bring them into the present century. i should feel sorry for them, but i dont.

Racism and prejudice, well... ya know its time to step past that. Good Golly, people blow my mind. How can live in this world and think the way they do? "should send the spanish back on the boats they crossed over here on"

WELL guess what you ignorant idiots, MOST of our ancesters, well thats just how they got here. And pretty much EVERY ethnic or culture that came has dealt with the same crap you are spewing out your mouth. Are ya Irish? Welll.... the irish were hated in America once upon a time. i'm sure you're fore fathers would be PROUD to hear the trash coming out your mouth now. Whether one is chinese, hispanic, african, indian, irish, german, italian, WHATEVER They were all hated here. So like grow up? America is a melting pot, always been that way.. GET USED TO IT.

i heard the comment that machines pick about as fast as the hispanics. Hey well, ya know not all hispanics are in the fruit business.. They dont care. They need to stick with their ignorance to feel safe.

At my neighbors kid's birthday party, with my little half hispanic angel running around, i had to listen to this crap and not say a damn thing. Manners manners. Not my house and not MY friends. Funny, they thought my kid was cute. Shame she's half hispanic, guess that drops her to the bottom of the genetic pool and i'm gonna have to go knock off those at the top.

Ignorant small town, uneducated, unsocialized, floridian rednecks. Soon as they started spewing trashout their mouths, my first question was "where are you from?" "oooh florida.. " Wonder if they read the look on my face that said "florida, well that makes sense" You dont have to speak to tell ppl what you are thinking and if you do speak, it usually doesnt take much to say.

Much simpler to look at them in my present attitude and inform them that my daughter is half hispanic and then watch theri faces as they realise they just insulted my daughter right to my face. My daughter and her "hispanic ness" is one of "those" they were speaking of.

All i can say is THANK GOD MY PARENTS knew enough to show me the world. Raise MY kid in florida? i think not, i'll end up destroying lives all over the place. i know its out there, and i should get used to it, but nah, i'm gonna be one of those idiots who wont stand for it. ESPECIALLY (doubly) if it hurts my kid in some way.

Yeah, watch their faces too.. when they realise that not only have they insulted my daughter (luckily who waasnt in ear shot) but they had just been talking about illegal activities like smoking pot. Gee, i dont think drugs and kids should mix.

Real F***ing winners i say. Tralier trash doesnt mean they live in a tralier.. trailer trash has nothing to do with money.. ALL shapes and sizes.

thank you for hearing my vent as i didnt want to open my mouth and make them regret their words.

P.S. i know ya cant change them, but have a little respect for your FELLOW HUMAN BEING

Redneck was originally a term for white sharecroppers, who did the basicly same work as a black slave for about the same wage... a place to stay but got a small portion of the profit.

They were a people who did what they had to do to feed their families without resorting to ilegal means in a bad period of history.
I think there should be pride or admiration in that fact.

I am a redneck, born of redneck stock.
I have very open views on about everything. I embrace all races.

Labeling all "rednecks" as bigots and trailer trash is doing the same thing you are blasting them for.

Just a thought.

thanks i know where it comes from. Oh and i wasnt "labeling" all rednecks as the same. i was venting and using the term "redneck" as an insult.

Personally.. i've friends that are rednecks.. and arent usually bothered by them. But i must say generally, they are prejudice.. which is really all fine and good. Just dont like it poured out around my daughter. Ya know?

Status: offline 		It is unfortunate that we run into people with various forms of bigotry no matter where we go. There is little you can do except try to educate them. If they refuse to be educated, then best to move on.
I am sure there are many people around who do not spew the trash that distresses you. You just need to find them.

Status: offline 		rednecks and thier like are all over the world, but by different names. In Ireland they are called boggers, thick and ignorant from the bog lands. I'm sure every place has them. Small minded people on narrow minded street.

i grew up amoungst poor people, mostly Puerto Ricans, Blacks and Orthodox Jews (i was the lone Scottish Catholic girl). Some poor people are bigoted, but not many. They had to live together, so they learned to get along. It's a bit hard to hate when your hairdresser/nextdoor neighbor/teacher is a different race/heritage/religion...and everyone is poor as dirt. Poor people make REAL moral choices...one family fed me lunch for two years...and many days it was all i had to eat. They could not afford it...but they could not turn their back on me either. i had Black kids protect me during the busing riots; some serious shit; 3 kids died my senior year of high school.

i have lived in Florida; in Tallahassee, amoung the people Riot Girl so eloquently ranted against. When Jeb Bush took office, his wife is Mexican; his children are half-hispanic. He ordered the state web pages to be presented in both english and spanish; and the work was being done in Tallahassee. OMG, the griping; and i confronted ppl all the time.

Not a single "come here, learn our language" comment passed unnoticed. Frankly it's a wonder no one hit me; i was a rabid dog. There is a street in Tallahassee you can drive down and see slave shacks....with Black families still living in them. It shocked me so badly the 1st time i saw them i nearly wrecked the car. Then i reminded myself of the Projects HUD built up north; what's the difference? Poor is poor.

i do not mean not having enough money for car insurance. i mean not having enough money for bread.

Frankly, i think bigotry is a sort of luxury. Middle class and wealthy people can live in segregated neighborhoods and send their kids to private schools with negiglible people of color amoung the student body. Poor people end up in the same trailer parks; the same shacks; and must find a way to get along. i know it's a massive generalization but it is a noticable trend i have seen over my life. i am mystified by the middle class bigot who has probably not had one coherent conversation with a Black person but nevertheless hates Blacks.
