I'm a big foodie, so I really enjoy doing the cooking, no matter what the occassion. (And woe be to anyone that tries to stop Me from cooking up a storm during the Holidays!). However, I really really don't look forward to cleaning the kitchen afterward and doing the dishes, so My males are expected to do the cleanup after the meal. I also require that they set and clear the table and tend to beverages and condiments during the meal.

I don't think I would feel comfortable feeding a boy anything that I Myself wouldn't eat, unless I knew it was edible and healthy. Green beans, for instance, are something I despise but I might make My boy eat them, especially if I knew he liked them.

Joe.. I always like the questions you ask... a v enquiring mind.. how has some Irish domme nt snapped u up yet??

Being served dinner by my sub is something that I enjoy, but this is always furthered by him wearing the apron he bought for this very purpose :) Somehow making it official ads that extra touch for me.

Not being a cruel Mistress... I wouldnt enjoy feeding him leftovers, I would always have him sat opposite me enjoying his dinner at the same time as I enjoy mine, and this puts him in prime position to watch for my glass approaching empty for refilling, or close enough to anticipate any need I might have.

I LOVE service like that.

I think it's a great idea for a sub to cook and serve meals to the domme, as long as he's good at it. It's an important skill for a sub to learn, if he's not a skilled cook, and I think most dommes really appreciate this.

However, I'm also a proponent of general efficiency and productivity, which prompt me to mention that things generally work better when people are assigned to the tasks which they are better at. If the sub really sucks at cooking, it might work out better to have someone else (domme, hired help, take-out, whatever) do the cooking, and assign the sub to preparation, cleanup, or something else that will be more helpful than the crummy meal he would prepare.

In my experiences I have always cooked the meals.  I always serve the meals to her in a timely fashion.  She made me eat all my meals, the same as she was eating, but out of a dog bowl at her feet.  Usually she would have her foot on the back of my head to "help me".  If she was mad or in a cruel mood I would get bread and water out of a dog dish, maybe with some scraps.

If I had to rely on my submissive to provide me with daily meals I would eating out or eating pancakes every day. (Note to self: Get subbie cooking lessons for Christmas).   I enjoy cooking and love to prepare meals. However, I do expect my submissive to set and clear the table as well as cater to my needs during the meal.

As a treat or punishment,  I have had him eat on the floor next to me, tied to the chair and only take in what I feed him, etc.  However, his day job is very physically demanding and I allow him to eat well and rest up to serve me the rest of the evening in the manner in which I desire.

I have in the past made him eat things he didn't want.  For example, he dislikes spinach and made a face when I  informed him this was on the dinner menu...so instead of allowing him to politely refuse it on his plate, I made him eat a serving.  Also, I do make him try things he is afraid to eat like:  sushi, artichokes, escargot and his has enjoyed them and thanked me for expanding his palate.

My specialty is omolette. That way I provide incentive to be allowed to spend the night ;-)

I knew a domme who liked to play with food--my food! She enjoyed mixing up things or adding things onto my plate that did not go with that combination of food.

Once I was blindfolded and given a hot sauce taste test. Then the sauce I picked was generously poured onto my food multiple times over the course of dinner since it was, ahem, my favorite.

Most of these combinations I was able to stomach.

One day I returned from errands in the Texas summer. She had a cold shake waiting for me since I had been out in the heat. It looked very welcoming--it looked like a chocolate smoothie. One sip quickly clarified that looks can be deceiving. The chocolate appearance came from the chocolate pudding. Other ingredients included vinegar and a little of pretty much every spice she had in her cabinet! It was horrible.

Cheers,

Sea

Being that cooking is one of the few practical skills I have (poetry and short-stories, while nice, don't do much), it's always a treat to be able to make a nice meal for a Lady. I could definitely forsee being the primary chef in a relationship. Like a few others have said, I'm really into food, and I'm used to cooking for myself anyway, so giving that responsibility to somebody else, I dunno. Only people I feel ok with cooking for me are my 'rents and the restaurant staff.

It's a lovely fantasy to eat from a dish or plate on the floor, but it's not something I'd like to make a regular habit. Same with "crushed" food. A nice once-in-a-while thing.
