I usually experience subspace by kinda passing out. Well, it looks like it, anyway. My body goes limp and I don't seem to react to any stimuli, although inside I am aware, thoughts are flying and I feel almost euphoric.
 
Last night, Master was amusing himself with some pretty painful breast and nipple play. I felt the neuro-chemicals start to swirl through my bloodstream, but I never really "left". Instead, at the moment I would usually slip off, I passed into a different space. I felt totally high on endorphins, wide awake and looking around. It was like reality changed. I was able to make eye contact with Master and nod in response, but when He asked me a "why" question, I was unable to speak.
 
This lasted for a while until He told me to close my eyes and used to His voice to put me fully into what I have always assumed to be my subspace (He uses hypnosis on me regularly).
 
Was this just a variation of sub-space? Is what I have always considered sub-space just a result or combination of hypnosis and endorphins? But isn't that the definition, anyway?
 
I am curious on other subs' thoughts and experiences of subspace and what I have been experiencing. Thanks.

Personally when im in subspace i am more aware of the feelings in my body than ever at another time, everything seems to tingle but physically im simillar i have in the past started to shake or get wobbly legs. I think subspace is differant for everyone like an orgasm and who can really describe those?

I too have experienced different types of subspace.  At times I feel a high, kind of "comfortably numb" feeling yet I am still aware.  Then there have been times I have lost myself; quite forgetting time, hearing; but, unable to decipher meaning in the words he says.  Mostly at times like that I am only feeling sensations. There is also a simple, relaxing type of subspace when I am fully aware but kind of buzzing with ideas, excitement and love.  This I attribute to the constant exhange of emotions and energy between Tacs and I without having the addition of large amounts of endorphins flowing. One thing is consistent though; when I am in subspace that has been induced by pain and/or fear I have alot of difficulty speaking and any answers I may get out are simple.  A yes or no.  I have been surprised by the different types of subspace I have experienced thus far.  I originally thought that it would feel the same every time.  I am pleasantly surprised by the variations.

Hello hejira, nice to see you post again :)

This happens to me often.  I am in an altered state, aware of my surroundings on some strange level, but unable to speak.  I end up sounding like the adults in the Peanuts cartoon flicks.  Mwaat Mwaat. Mwaat...When I realize nothing but noise is coming forth, I'll start grasping at things, flailing my arms around as though that's somehow going to communicate my words, heh.

Subspace is not just one experience, it's not even just one experience in one person.  I'm sorry you were led to believe that it was and am glad that you realize the truth now.

When I was discussing it with Master later, I told Him how my thoughts were so clear and just one at a time (I generally have about twelve different things going on in my mind at any given moment. Ok, exaggeration- but you understand). Anyway, it felt like my thoughts were so clear that He should have heard them. We have such a deep connection that I was surprised He didn't. He laughed when I told Him that, but when I was in that state, it really felt like He should hear me.
 
As my students would say - I must have been trippin'

Euphoric is exactly how i describe it as well.  my heart rate quickens, i feel as though the wind has been knocked from lungs, i go into a trance like state and tears of submission will roll down my cheeks. i can't speak, i can barely comprehend anything other than the sound of his voice and his touch. At those moments i am more owned by him than ever before. I adore that power One can have over me.
Not sure what you were feeling though. I only know the subspace for me is a heaven on earth and my body heart mind and soul go soaring into his hands letting him mold me however he chooses. I never feel more beautiful than i do when i am in that zone.

Subspace for me has always been a VERY aware condition- I feel and see and smell and think and hear EVERYTHING... I become hyperaware, and it feels like I'm drowning in something beautiful.

It's been a good long time since I was in subspace.

I've also had different degrees of subspace. Often, I go limp and crave more pain to keep the endorphin induced euphoria going. I no longer register pain as pain. I feel peaceful, content, whole. I feel so much more in touch with my body. It is a spiritual experience at times.  I have felt as if I had left my body to fly and watch over the situation. I've also gone to a special place of peace and contentment where I see, feel and hear what is there. Most of the time it's euphoric and I am fully cognizant of what is going on around me. Oftentimes I am incapable of coherant speech. I'm there but removed. I love it every time and in each different way.

I swear I go into subspace when my Master kisses me....seriously. Sometimes its worse(deeper) than others.... this past Sunday He kissed me and i almost lost my mind....He was SO forceful....He was practically raping me with His mouth! It was awesome! I get very dizzy....i can feel myself slipping away some....and this is just the kissing....LOL....yeah...He slays me....regularly

When I was first learning about the lifestyle, I heard that most Doms/Masters don't kiss their subs/slaves. I am so glad I have a Master who insists on following His own mind and not some "Dom rulebook". Aren't we lucky?

I have to admit, when Sir touches me, ever so lightly, I go crazy. I went into subspace and felt myself floating over my body. That was so amazing...and yes hejira, we are lucky!

I feel oddly aware.  Like I know everything that is going on even if I can't see it.  I physically feel the pain, but at the same time I don't.  I feel the blows, and all the appropriate neurons fire...but 1 + 1 != pain.  It takes some serious work though.

Heavy stuff! I must say that to me sub-space has only been reached extremely seldom - and only via psychological means. I've never been a pain-freak, how ever, I think my masochistic sides are developing, so maybe...
