So, JLION asked what kinky people might wear as costumes in vanilla company that might hint at, but not reveal their BDSM proclivities.

I am attending a costume party made up of kinky people. Thus in contrast to JLION I *want* to both suggest kink and reveal my preferred role. Have others attended similar parties? What costumes have you chosen?

Let's see... I went as a saytr one time.... (the horns were a pain in the ass) Then again, I showed up in "scout" uniform... and then there was the year I went in an altar boy cloak.... Then there was the year that the first "Addams Family" movie was out... I shaved and did a little makeup... instant Uncle Fester! (that was a year I was more in a Top mode though)

You could take a strong woman from history- Poppaea Sabina, Joan of Arc, or Countess Bathory (although the last may be cliche), and then modernize the character. Turn Poppaea into a cutthroat businesswoman and dress accordingly. Joan could sport a modern fetishized military uniform, etc.

I am going as a chained harem girl, and Master is going as a druid... not really matching I guess, but fun :)

I'm going as a bad-ass female cop - dressed in an all-black very short uniform dress, black knee-high boots, with blonde hair.  I suppose the kink side of that is that I like to dress as a woman anyway, so I thought why not make my costume that way and bring that out in a more "acceptable" setting??

neOne year, in her magazine, believe it or not, Martha Stewart did a compilation of adult costumes for the season. One of her costumes was a beautiful raven outfit, complete with wrist bands/cuffs of feathers and a collar/choker made up of feathers as well...long black skirt with a belt of feathers off the "tail" and a corset and it would have been fantastic. I thought of adding a name on the feather collar of Lenore just to see if anyone got what the costume was, but that was my literary bent showing itself.

Another costume she had was going as "rain" clear plastic dome-shaped umbrella and strips of bubble-wrap hanging from the umbrella. The outfit the person wore was also clear plastic...she wore brightly collored boots to complete the look and it was really interesting.

At any rate, she's never done another holiday magazine like it since then.

I wish she would.

She had a great imagination that year.

As a pal of mine here suggested, there is a new wave of costumes in the line of 'Lisa Nowak' the astronaut in a diaper for hallowe'en.  I guess that would pass as nilla, lol.  A bike helmet, a road map and a diaper, how sweeeeeet.

I personaly love going in my Renaissance gown that is black, and slit up the thighs.. my black leather bat wings, corset, and my horns ( real ones bought at ren faire to match my red hair made out of animal horn ) I love my succubus costume. It gets the point across.. strikes up conversations.. and is damn sexy. With the exception of the horns I made everything myself. *smiles*
