So....its that time of year again! That one week all of the south looks forward to with anticipation (or dread??)...that one week where hundreds of rednecks, drukards, and even some doctors and lawyers (because really, you have to be one to afford tickets anymore)...all pack themselves into Jacksonville Florida for the worlds largest outdoor cocktail party...or at least thats what the weekend has come to be known! So, who will you be rooting for this weekend?? PS....say georgia or Ill find out where you live and TP your house......

It's the annual football game between the University of Georgia and the University of Florida. They play the game not in Athens, GA... not in Gainesville, FL... but in Jacksonville, FL at what used to be commonly called the Gator Bowl (since renovated to be the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the NFL team). The stadium is now called by it's official name, Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. Every year, fans of both the Bulldogs (University of Georgia) and the Gators (University of Florida) arrive days ahead of the game, set up, and tailgate like there's no tomorrow... hence the moniker "the world's largest outdoor cocktail party." i live in jacksonville. downtown traffic is screwed for a week, and the influx of out-of-their-minds, frothing-at-the-mouth football fans is a pain in the rear. kitten.... how do ya get a gator off your porch? pay for the pizza!

I lived in Jacksonville for around 4 years...I remember the hectic times it could cause.....of course, I was usually adding to the mayhem myself....grins~ I moved there from Brunswick Georgia so I was already a Dawg fan when I moved into Florida, and now I live about 45 minutes south of Gainsville,Florida. We drive up there several times a month for dinner or clubbing or such. And my vehicles ALL have huge Georgia stickers on their back windows and Georgia liscene plates and I drive around gainesville with my Georgia flags flying and people honk and flip me off all the time, its great.....

we do get some gators who are brave enough to show their colors.. and they tend to get their cars paintballed TP'd or covered in dogshit .. and the actual person wearing the offending colors well.. i tend to shoot them with paintballs .. or throwing flaming bags of dogshit at them.. - the only thing i actually find offensive is gators and their shitty choice of team colors - PS the gators can suck the balls that i don't have

Florida because one of my favorite cousin's went there. But basically when it comes to football, I root for the clock. The best game is one that ends quickly. [:D]
